HOLISTIC MEDICINE 2 Holistic Medication I have chosen holistic medicine as the subject of my topic. Should holistic medicine be incorporated into conventional therapeutic approaches? Throughout this project, I will investigate the benefits and drawbacks of holistic and conventional medicine to find any connections between them. I will also be looking more closely at the research aspects of holistic medicine and considering any medication contraindications that may impact conventional medicine. A patient's worldview, cosmology, and spiritual beliefs may all be taken into consideration during traditional medical therapy. Still, there have been cases when people have treated certain health conditions with holistic therapy and found it to be effective. What is holistic medicine all about? "In its most basic form, holistic therapy addresses the mind, body, and spirit to support health and healing" (Mayer, 2022). Rather than only treating the problem and giving medication as a stopgap, holistic medicine treats patients holistically, addressing every aspect of the human body. Holistic medicine takes into account social connections, the environment, and the patient's emotional state of health. Holistic medicine can be used to treat patients in many different ways. Some holistic medicine classifications and approaches include Complementary and alternative medicine such as Kratom and CBD, homeopathy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, chiropractic adjustments, and acupressure. Education and alterations to lifestyle: dietary guidance, consistent exercise, nutrition, yoga, and medication. Additionally, in addition to the CAM therapies previously stated,
HOLISTIC MEDICINE 3 conventional treatment options may include radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgery, prescription medication, and radiation therapy. Safety in using holistic medications: Different holistic medicines have different levels of safety when it comes to interactions, responses, and usage. With its potentially harmful side effects and occasionally even deadly outcomes, holistic treatment can be extremely risky. Holistic medicine can offer many advantages, including more individualized and affordable care. Although holistic medicine has numerous advantages, it has its challenges. As such, it should be included in our current medical treatment approaches. Both inpatient and outpatient settings can benefit from the use of complementary and alternative medicine. Doctors who practice holistic medicine prioritize prevention over treatment when enhancing their patients' health and wellness, taking into account their mind, body, and soul.
