Abraham Lincoln Abiding Contribution: A Fair and Just American Law For Everyone. My assignment is Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated directly after being re-elected in 1865. The text discusses him extensively as the author of the idealistic era of the Reconstruction, his party, the republican Whigs, and Lincoln’s desired Union of the States, divided by the economic fair dealing of the economy, questions of slaves and indentured workers and the Civil War. His Autobiography renders him interesting because he was not the second president after George Washington but the sixteenth. The two are often spoken of together, as if there were no presidents before or in between, I find that interesting because it is done a lot. Even the division of eras including the Civil War, with Lincoln’s vision of a fair and just economic government and a unified or undivided Union, that all states, especially North and Southern states would become truly one America. (Howe et al., (June 23, 2021) © 2017, PP.355- 361) . His party, the Whig Party moved forward and people grew weary of the division and chaos of the Civil War as Lincoln had grown, and yet moved forward in many of his ideas of his, just, fair, economic, individually thriving Union Country. Though he did not live onward to construct it, step by step, his steadfast believers and followers of his vision did so. Many define him as somewhat of an enigma , afterward depicting him in the Klan , did he order the murder of some of the freed blacks to make up for the innocent Whites he wanted to stand against an unfair government to them ? Who knows, if the same Klan members set them both up? Interesting, 2. Fair 3. Steadfast visionary and yet equally pragmatic, are my three descriptors. One of the dichotomy scholars try to describe him for his times because of his moral economic stands and the people who voted foir them but obviously, a belief he stated often in God he was of a Baptist background yet spoke universally of a should be moral state of some kind for everyone, but did not seek to define God for everyone. This is
something that seems to puzzle some scholars of Lincoln. He was a lawyer, a civic-minded statesman, and of course, a politician, who had grown up surrounded by poverty, and sincerely wanted a just economy and a fair individually free country more than friendship with slaves, (Noll, 2004, Pp.98-103) He also set up educational institutions for poor people to get an education and become participates in a just American Economy. So Lincoln had very high ideals that he ascribed to. Many scholars who admire him truly debate and affirm the sense of commitment to a just economic and a just contribution from a flourishing and thriving personal citizenry life. (Noll, 2004,pp.98-103). I think it was unfair that he was assassinated and blamed for the Civil War or the problems in the world; The article by Noll critiques even Winger’s study of Lincoln’s steadfast steps towards a just economic flourish for America, whether he was a Romantic born of his times civic feeler- or a moralist seeking conformers, a thinker but not quite…a pragmatist and a dreamer for his party? , “ Romantic Realism ?” (Stout, 2005, Vol.74.Issue1), they don’t seem to conclude but it sparks debates that seem interesting also that seeking to see justice for slaves and indentured workers is to blame for the were blamed for his assassination and that he and not hateful people was wrong. Many different leaders of different cultures admired Lincoln's ideas and appreciated them and still build on them today. For Lincoln, these character traits seemed explored together with wonder and still left many scholars such as Wingers or Bancroft or their dissenters and agreers truly fascinated with Lincoln’s character and determination, and genuine concern with fairness. This became a personal dream for himself and a vision for his party. 1. The continuation and definite chisel handprint on the shaping and sculptured mindset of America’s political identity and posture, even today, seems to be a point many different
writers point out as his contribution to the American political scene and the people he inspired. Even today , though he was greatly opposed by some at the time, is credited with inclusive government and individual pursuit of freedom. for setting a political government of honor and inclusiveness, The 13th Amendment, ‘We the People posture’, to the world that makes him and the 13th -14th Admendments that he aspired still admired today.
