FOUR LITERATURE REVIEWS FOUR LITERATURE REVIEWS Smoking
Spatial and Descriptive Analysis of Smoke and Vape Shop Locations Focusing on A Cancer Center Neighboring Catchment Area Lung cancer, primarily caused by tobacco use, is among the deadliest cancers. In the cancer center catchment area, 16 out of 35 San Gabriel Valley (SGV) cities scored the lowest tobacco control grade (F). To achieve our Cancer Center’s goal of comprehensive tobacco and cancer control, it is imperative to inform best practices and population health tobacco control priorities with state and county public health departments, local tobacco control coalitions, school districts, community healthcare providers, and communities, as well as the broader public health advocacy and organizations. LITERATURE REVIEW 1 (Ashing et al., 2021)
LITERATURE REVIEW 2 Embedding comprehensive smoking cessation programs into community clinics: study protocol for a cluster-randomized controlled trial Cigarette smoking among adults in LA County is one of the leading causes of preventable death. This study states that the implementation of smoking cessation programs in LA County-operated community clinics will best address this issue. Through this study, they determined the primary outcome of the study is higher rates of smoking cessation in the intervention sites as compared to those with matched LAC-operated non-intervention sites. (Baskerville et al., 2022)

Asian immigrants in the U.S. are more vulnerable to smoking at higher rates than U.S.-born Asians. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) established an Asian Smoker's quitline to serve Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese immigrants. This study found that the quitline could serve as a model for delivering smoking cessation and behavioral services to geographically dispersed linguistic minority populations. Outreach to California Medicaid smokers for Asian language quitline services LITERATURE REVIEW 3 (Saw et al., 2018)
LITERATURE REVIEW 4 Disentangling individual and neighborhood differences in the intention to quit smoking in Asian American male smokers (Vyas et al., 2020) Few studies have assessed how neighborhood and built environments contribute to individual-level behavior, like smoking. The study used baseline data from 340 Chinese and Vietnamese male daily smokers. This study determined an association between spatial or neighborhood variations and intention to quit smoking among Chinese and Vietnamese American smokers. The findings demonstrate the need to understand contextual factors that contribute to disparities within and between certain groups.
