2 The motive behind the Kabul ambulance explosion remains undetermined. Coincidentally, an ambulance was in proximity to the blast as it passed through one of several checkpoints near the European embassy in Kabul, prompting a flurry of phone calls (Ruttig, 2018). After a year-long absence, Jasani and his team have returned, raising the possibility that there may be more to the situation than meets the eye. Following a successful coup, the Taliban government in Afghanistan was overthrown. Experts assert that Taliban attacks on civilians were senseless and resulted in unnecessary loss of life (Jasani and colleagues, 2021). Are there any specific concerns I should be mindful of at this juncture? An improvised explosive device (IED) concealed within an ambulance was likely employed in the attack on Sidarat Square in Kabul, resulting in 33 fatalities and 235 injuries. The explosion at the hospital inflicted widespread damage on surrounding municipal buildings, schools, residences, and cars. The effectiveness of Afghanistan's anti-terrorism efforts remains a subject of ongoing debate. Discussions about soldier defection are underway, with some contemplating leaving the military altogether. It is always possible to present evidence to counter unfounded allegations and support an alternative viewpoint. Timely government action is crucial, and international assistance is essential to rebuilding Afghanistan's government and society.
