2 Telehealth and Virtual Medicine Hi Danielle, I agree with your discussion post regarding the role of telehealth and virtual medicine in collaborating care teams during the COVID-19 pandemic and the pertinent merits and disadvantages of virtual healthcare delivery. I can add that the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated prompt reactive measures to be put in place to prevent person-to-person spread of the COVID-19 virus (Holcapek et al., 2023). On this note, Telehealth and virtual medicine were identified as effective approaches for steering a continuum of timely, safe, and quality person- centered healthcare. The context was through the conveying of accurate, valid, and consistent healthcare electronic data that incorporates trending healthcare technologies for remote care delivery (Holcapek et al., 2023). As a result, there was a reduced need for person-to-person contact between multidisciplinary collaborating healthcare teams and individual patients, their family members, and the general population. I can also add that an advantage of virtual healthcare delivery is the facilitated aptitude for cost-effective, safe, and quality person-centered healthcare. The context is through the elimination of the need for physical care delivery through the integration of various forms of trending healthcare technologies such as video conferencing (Gajarawala & Pelkowski, 2021). Another advantage is the improved chances for steering preventive care by continuously and consistently involving individuals and populations in their wellness and well-being. A possible disadvantage of virtual healthcare is an increasing concern regarding the protection of patients' healthcare Big Data security, privacy, and confidentiality (Gajarawala & Pelkowski, 2021). The context is generated by increased threats through aspects such as hacking and data breaches for healthcare Big Data within the healthcare industry.
