Title: Reflective Analysis and Study Plan Following a Comprehensive Assessment
Introduction:
Undertaking the recent 3P exam provided a holistic view of my medical knowledge, offering insights into
strengths and areas that require focused improvement. In this essay, I will delve into the experience of
taking the assessment, evaluate the scores obtained, and outline a strategic study plan to address
identified knowledge gaps.
Experience of Taking the Assessment:
The total exam time of 39 minutes, during which I answered 75 questions, created a time-constrained
atmosphere. The breadth of topics, encompassing cardiovascular, dermatology, endocrine, and others,
showcased the diverse nature of the exam. However, the short duration impacted the thoroughness of
addressing each question, potentially contributing to lower scores in some areas.
Learning from the Assessment:
The 3P exam score report highlighted significant knowledge deficits in cardiovascular, dermatology,
endocrine, orthopedics, pediatrics, sexually transmitted infections, and women's health. With an overall
score of 45%, below the national mean, the experience underscores the need for targeted study plans to
address specific knowledge gaps and improve overall performance.
Evaluation of Lowest Areas:
Dermatology (29%), Endocrine (20%), Orthopedics (0%), Pediatrics (40%), Sexually Transmitted Infections
(20%), and Women's Health (20%) emerged as the lowest scoring areas, warranting priority in the study
plan.
Evaluation of Highest Areas:
Hematology (80%) and Respiratory (75%) were the highest scoring areas, reflecting a robust
understanding of these domains. Hematology, with a score of 80%, showcased a solid foundation in
pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic tests, and management of hematologic disorders.
Developing a Study Plan:
To address the identified knowledge gaps, I will allocate dedicated study time to each deficient area.
Incorporating the 300 questions per unit, I plan to spend 1-2 hours daily on practice questions related to
Dermatology, Endocrine, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Women's Health.
Additionally, I will utilize course materials for in-depth content review, supplementing my studies with
textbooks, online modules, and clinical case studies.
Conclusion:
The 3P exam experience has provided valuable insights into my medical knowledge strengths and
weaknesses. The identified knowledge gaps in specific domains necessitate a focused and structured
study plan. By allocating dedicated time to targeted practice questions and comprehensive content
review, I aim to enhance my understanding in the identified deficient areas and improve overall
performance in future assessments.
