AI Taking Over Education In the modern day, AI is becoming increasingly integrated into our daily lives and rapidly
becoming a key part of educational society. The benefits of Artificial Intelligence pose a great benefit to students and educators. Despite the common belief that it is viewed negatively, we need to examine the aspects of AI as a whole; ranging from the drawbacks to the benefits of AI usage in high school educational systems. Nevertheless, in large aspects, AI use in high school education benefits learning to make education easier and more efficient ultimately, therefore, we should work towards implementing AI in high school systems. Utilizing Artificial Intelligence in high school learning can have many key advantages, including making learning experiences for students more personally engaging. AI can bring to life learning platforms where each student can connect their strengths, weaknesses, and favorite learning styles.
AI can overall have the power to revolutionize the way we learn today,” enabling us to personalize the learning experience” (Elgerma 1)
. In a sense, it allows the classroom to create an experience where each student can grow their education. Oftentimes each student learns by a different path, which can be hard for a teacher to bring out, especially in a large class setting. AI, however, can help express each student’s particular learning needs. This can help to ensure that each student receives the best possible learning experience to ensure they get the most out of their education. This personalized approach by AI can help students learn at their own pace, focus on areas where they need the most support, and ultimately improve their
Barber 2
academic performance. Thus, AI on a large scale can highlight a student's learning skills, so a teacher can display the best learning styles for each student while analyzing each student's performance. Furthermore, AI makes learning more personalized by analyzing a particular student’s response to a particular task and being able to provide personalized recommendations for how to improve said task. At times, many classroom tasks can be inferred differently for a student, and teachers might go with their bias when analyzing a student's response. AI-powered recommendation systems, however, can analyze a student’s response to suggest relevant learning
materials to help improve the student's response to the best response possible. AI does so by scanning through assignments and providing detailed feedback to students to highlight areas of improvement. Therefore, once AI can analyze a student's report, it can factually analyze a response without bias for the student to best improve their response. AI-driven technologies can also provide personalized feedback to students. AI-driven technologies are also being used to create personalized learning pathways for students. AI can scan through student data and detect patterns in their behavior, allowing teachers to create learning pathways tailored to individual students’ needs. This helps ensure that students receive the most appropriate learning materials and get the most out of their education. In summary, students learning benefits from AI being able to personalize their learning as well as AI being able to easily assess things.
AI-based tools can help teachers to quickly assess a student's performance. AI can provide feedback to teachers and students on tests, quizzes, and other assignments, to help them understand where they need to improve. This helps to create a more efficient and effective assessment process. AI-driven grading technology can reduce the time and effort required to grade student assignments. AI can scan through large volumes of assignments quickly and
Barber 3
accurately and assign grades based on predetermined criteria. This saves teachers a significant amount of time and effort, allowing them to focus on more important aspects of teaching. AI can also provide more accurate grades, reducing the likelihood of human error. Overall, AI-driven technologies are revolutionizing the grading process, allowing teachers to grade more efficiently and provide more personalized feedback to students. This allows students to receive the most appropriate learning materials and get the most out of their education. Concisely showing how AI is able to easily allow assessment for teachers yet despite the positives there are various counterarguments against AI.
One major concern is that AI technology could lead to a reduction in human interaction between teachers and students. For example, Goth mentions, “AI has no way of imparting the wisdom and experience that comes from having lived through history” (Goth 1). Which in a sense, brings out how AI won't highlight lived experiences history books offer. Yet despite this, AI’s pattern and technology can offer new insight and perspectives on history and be able to include views on things that may have been overlooked by the human eyes. Thus, overall highlights how instead of not bringing out human history ai will enhance standpoints on AI, also;
another backlash from ai is how is dumbing down human education. To bring out, there is the concern that AI-based systems could lead to students not being able to perform real-world tasks and not come up with an original response. However, this is not the case and AI has the potential to transform the way students learn. By using AI, we can help teachers better understand their students and tailor lessons to individual needs. AI can also help identify areas where students are struggling and provide them with additional support and resources” (Anderson 1). AI-based systems are designed to provide a more efficient learning experience, but this could come at the cost of reducing the depth and breadth of what students

learn in high school, leading to a less robust educational experience overall. In summary, to create a more original learning experience for each student, AI can be implemented to improve education rather than make learning more robotic in classrooms in various ways. AI can be implemented into classrooms to automate tasks such as grading and providing feedback to students. By using AI to grade assignments and provide feedback, teachers can save valuable time and energy that can be better spent on other tasks. AI can also be used to provide personalized learning experiences to students. AI can be used to tailor the learning experience to the individual needs of each student, ensuring that they are getting the most out of their learning experience. Furthermore, AI can be used to facilitate collaboration among students. By using AI to create collaborative learning environments, students can work together on projects and actively engage in learning. AI can also be used to help with assessment and evaluation. AI can be used to assess and evaluate student performance, allowing teachers to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of each student. This information can be used to tailor learning experiences and help students reach their full potential.
To highlight, AI can assist in expanding the resources available to students and teachers. For example, chatbots can provide immediate assistance to students who need help with homework or studying, while AI-powered tutoring programs can offer additional support for struggling students. AI can also be used to create virtual simulations and experiences that enhance the learning of complex concepts, such as science experiments and historical events. By making these resources accessible, AI can help to level the playing field and ensure that all students have access to high-quality educational materials.
Barber 5
In conclusion, AI overall benefits others and should be implemented in classrooms to make learning more efficient rather than “robotic”. To explore this thought, AI usage was examined in the sense of the benefits of AI to make learning more efficient, highlighting counterarguments, and displaying how AI usage should be incorporated into educational systems. All in all, AI has the potential to revolutionize the educational sector and can be a great
asset if applied correctly.

You are a biomedical engineer working for a small orthopaedic firm that fabricates rectangular shaped fracture
fixation plates from titanium alloy (model = "Ti Fix-It") materials. A recent clinical report documents some problems with the plates
implanted into fractured limbs. Specifically, some plates have become permanently bent while patients are in rehab and doing partial
weight bearing activities.
Your boss asks you to review the technical report that was generated by the previous test engineer (whose job you now have!) and used to
verify the design. The brief report states the following... "Ti Fix-It plates were manufactured from Ti-6Al-4V (grade 5) and machined into
solid 150 mm long beams with a 4 mm thick and 15 mm wide cross section. Each Ti Fix-It plate was loaded in equilibrium in a 4-point bending
test (set-up configuration is provided in drawing below), with an applied load of 1000N. The maximum stress in this set-up was less than the
yield stress for the Ti-6Al-4V…
