The stages of development that were described in the 40 Years of Storming Article included: Forming (where relationships and boundaries are formed), storming (that represents a time for intergroup conflict), norming (norms are developed and there is group cohesion), performing (members adapt and play roles to enhance task activities), and the newest stage, adjourning (occurs at the separation time of the group). work together. during performing, the members play there roles to complete the tasks. Finally, Adjourning is the newest stage added and it occurs at the time of separation from the group.
