Scenario #1 - Since Trevor is unable to work continuously, he can be accommodated by repeated instruction since he is unable to complete it in once setting. His hyperactivity is sufficient to allow him extended time which will also consist of longer breaks in between test sessions. - Pairing written instructions with oral instructions ensures that Trevor understands what he is supposed to do on his assessment. - Minimization of visual distractions would assist Trevor with paying attention. The accommodation of keeping the classroom environment as well as formatting the quizzes as simple as possible would assist Trevor in staying focus during instruction as well as proctoring of assessments. Scenario #2 - Large-print texts that are very clear and high in contrast. The purpose of this would be to show regular printed material like textbooks and workbooks already magnified since Antonio already uses a magnifying device. This would be of great assistance in a typical classroom setting during a lesson where student must work into a textbook. - Since Antonio has a hard time reading printed text, tools and equipment that are in raised format can assist. For example, there are
calculators with numbers and symbols raised in braille that students can utilize in math is they are unable to read printed text and need an alternative. - Digital text can be translated to any language and can serve as a translator for PowerPoints, projections, or for an oral lecture. This can be of great assistance for Antonio since English is not his first language. Scenario #3 - Technology assistance during instruction For example, recorded audio of the lesson available for Brittany to listen to later. - Since Brittany typically loses her place and must start over, she can also be accommodated by extended time so she has can have enough time to transfer information. - Real objects (manipulatives) can be used in the classroom instead of printed images and text since it is hard for Brittany to translate the work on the screen to her paper. This includes the acceptance as an oral response in lieu of a written one.
