MATH 101 Course Project Deliverable 3: The Scatter Plot Question 1. State your research question with the variables that will be examined. Identify which variable will be the independent variable and which will be the dependent variable. Does the amount of rain fall affect the severity of Algae blooms In Lake Erie? I think the independent factor would be the yearly annual rain fall, and the dependent be the severity of algae blooms. Question 2. Using Excel (or similar software), create a scatter plot using your data set. Insert the scatter plot in the space below. Make sure that your scatter plot axes are labeled with the names of the variables. Question 3. Describe any trend that is evident in the scatter plot and what this implies about the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The trend implies that there is correlation between the annual rain fall and the severity of algae blooms. The more rain fall in a year means the severity of the algae blooms also goes up. Question 4: Provide a full citation (in APA style) for the data source used in your project. 2023 Lake Erie Algal Bloom More Severe than Predicted by Seasonal Forecast . (2020, May 13).
