COURSE PROJECT-TASK ANALYSIS OF LEARNING STANDARD 1 Week 3 - Assignment: Course Project-Task Analysis of Learning Standard  Student: Maria Maqsoudi-Karimi Alliant International University EDU 62050: Content Knowledge and Instructional Practice IV: Differentiated Learning Professor Kimberly Gregorovic  November 2, 2023
COURSE PROJECT-TASK ANALYSIS OF LEARNING STANDARD 2 Common Core or State Content Standard : CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.C.6 Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13). Standard for Practice : SWBAT use whole numbers to identify and solve addition problems Prior Knowledge related to the concepts & skills Unpacking the Standard Nouns (know) Verbs (do) Concepts Skills Materials, Tools, Strategies, Questions Student Learning Outcome: Addition, subtraction Place value, grouping Whole numbers Addition Sum Plus Add Equal Subtraction Minus Identify Solve Total Altogether More Difference Takeaway Less Addition and Subtraction equations, Worksheet, games, counting on leading to ten, manipulatives, Exemplar Illustration, 100 chart, and teacher exemplar. What is the sum of this equation? What is 5 less than 10 equals to? Students will use the strategies provided to solve the problem. They will also identify the key vocabulary as well.
COURSE PROJECT-TASK ANALYSIS OF LEARNING STANDARD 3 Reflection : How you conducted your task analysis. This is a first-grade classroom, where students are learning how to add and subtract within 20. To perform this lesson, I first chose which of the Common Core S tate Standards apply to first grade and based on my research the domain was operations and Algebraic Thinking. The Operations and Algebraic Thinking standard focused on seven subsets and currently my students are on 1.0A.C.6 which is adding and subtracting within 20. The students should have prior knowledge of whole numbers, adding, subtracting numbers, and understanding and applying properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction. These sets were completed and now the students are ready to receive lessons on subset 6 which is adding and subtracting within 20. Rational for each of the skills you identified. The skills listed need to be learned are identify, solve, total, altogether, more, differences, takeaway, and less are key vocabularies in teaching this subset. Typically, one standard is taught between one to two weeks and is continuously integrated into other standards to get continuous practice. The more they practice the skills, the better the student’s comprehension and understanding skills will increase. How does this activity support establish purpose for the learner? The teacher will present students with numerous learning strategies to understand the standard, such as visual aids (YouTube video), counting forwards or backward, manipulatives, and whiteboard examples. This will help them remember and grasp

COURSE PROJECT-TASK ANALYSIS OF LEARNING STANDARD 4 what they should have learned by the end of the lesson. Students will also be assigned 20 minutes of homework on the Freckle application, a technology-based tool. Students will be graded based on all they learn in class and at home.
