2.3 - Assignment: Getting to the Bottom of the Problem (PLG1) TO: Jack Smith, Marketing Lead Executive FROM: Oscar E. Murillo-Parra - Research Assistant; Global Marketing Department DATE: October 19, 2021 SUBJECT: Global Travel Performance Study In addition to having a major effect on the economy, the COVID-19 pandemic has also had an impact on a large number of businesses across the world, including those in the United States of America (USA). As a consequence, the travel industry has seen a substantial decline in income. Because of a steady decline in the number of reservations made through their websites since the middle of 2020, the online travel company Global Travel has suffered losses, However, as compared to the losses experienced by other online travel reservation firms, these losses have not been severe and may perhaps be deemed minor in nature. According to MarketBeat.com, "Global Travel shares was trading at $15.39 on March 9th, 2020, only a few days before the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 to be a pandemic virus." Since then, the stock has risen by 82.1 percent and is now trading at $33.19, providing us with a broad picture of the company's financial success. This has resulted in a reduction in the company's digital footprint due to the fact that advertising for their services is no longer accessible on websites where they previously had a high level of activity and regular visitors. A number of key factors must be included in this research proposal in order to dissect and analyze them in order to minimize the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector. COVID-19 has had a major effect on the travel sector, which is a result of the pandemic. In order to finish the procedure, it will be required to fulfill the following stages: 1. Defining the Issue 2. Research Objectives 3. Planning the Research Design or Study Design 4. Sample Planning 5. Data Capture 6. Data Analysis 7. Conclusion, Report Preparation and Presentation
