Every week, when I get paid, I have to purchase diapers for my kids. I purchase the same brand of diapers and I get them from the same store every week. This is considered a classically conditioned habit because it happens every week. I am repetitive when it comes to purchasing diapers. If this store did not have my brand of diapers, I would most likely just go to another similar store. The unconditioned stimulus would be the store not having my brand of diapers. The neutral stimulus would be that the store still had other brands of diapers available. This is neutral because it is not affected by the store not having my brand, since I only want to purchase a specific brand. The response would be that I just went to another store for my diapers because it was an automatic decision when the store did not have the correct brand that
I use. 2.
When I went into my local Kroger, I saw a sale on the soda that I always drink. It said if I purchase four cases of the soda, I will get each one at half the price. This example is operantly conditioned because it uses positive reinforcement to get a certain outcome. By putting the soda on sale, the store made the product more appealing, which made me want to purchase it more. The positive reinforcement would be that I got the sodas for a cheaper price because I bought them in bulk.
