Assignment Two 2 Assignment Two: Research Design and Methods When people decide to act, their environmental concern becomes environmental behavior. Frugality is associated with ecological behaviors (use reduction, recycling, and re- use of objects). So, this research will investigate why consumers’ attitudes and behaviors are changing to green and eco-friendly products. This question attempts to investigate numerous factors that can cause a modification in consumers’ attitudes about the green and eco-friendly products. Research Design and Methods This research will use a “descriptive” research design due to the research questions. This research will explain several factors that significantly impact consumers’ purchasing decisions toward eco-friendly products. To obtain relevant information regarding the change in consumers’ behaviors about sustainable or eco-friendly products, I will use document analysis research and semi-structured interview methods. Document analysis is a procedure of data collection that involves evaluating material from written documents to accomplish contingent on the research standards. The method is frequently exploited as a “qualitative analysis” technique in qualitative research. Firstly, I will collect the data from several recently published scholarly articles. With the help of search terms, these articles will find from the internet library. The main search terms those will use relevant articles are consumers’ attitude towards green products, sustainable products, green marketing, eco-friendly products etc. The articles will be found in Google Schooler databases. All the selected articles will be written in English and peer-reviewed articles. The second research method will be semi-structured interviews. The semi-structured type of interview will use to collect data from the participants. The interview will take to around 5 participants. These can be from family members, classmates, colleagues, and

This data collection research method will allow me to collect the qualitative data using open-ended questions to discover participant opinions, feelings, and beliefs about changing consumers’ behaviors toward eco-friendly products. This interview will conduct either on Zoom or face to face according to participants’ preferences. This interview will not hurt any participants in anyways. Few questions will ask during the interview. 1. Do you prefer or not green products over other types of products? Why? 2. Why do you think companies should manufacture or sell eco-friendly products? Data Selections The procedure of selecting the appropriate data kind and source and suitable devices to collect data is known as data selection. Both the primary and secondary types of data will require to answer the research question. These types of data will be helpful to understand consumers’ behaviors more accurately. The primary data will be collected from “semi- structured” interviews and secondary data from several scholarly articles. The thematic data analysis methods will use to analyse the collect data. The collected data will be analysed according to some themes like environmental concerns, self-awareness, and green marketing etc.
