Marketing of Sustainable Products
Developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, the Higg Index is a suite of tools that enables brands, retailers, and facilities of all sizes — at every stage in their sustainability journey — to accurately measure and score a company or product's sustainability performance. The Higg Index delivers a holistic overview that empowers businesses to make meaningful improvements that protect the well-being of factory workers, local communities, and the environment. Consider whether consumers will pay more for products that are marketed as sustainable or manufactured in ways that are aligned with safe workplaces and sufficient wages. Cite the sources you considered when researching this issue.
Analyze this law or case law address whether this change in the law seemed to improve the moral climate or ethical standards of society.
Hello Class,
We need to understand the significance of sustainability manufacturing. Sustainability manufacturing is “the creation of manufactured products through economically-sound processes that minimize negative environmental impacts while conserving energy and natural resources” and also “enhances employee, community and product safety” (EPA, 2022). A survey of one-thousand Americans showed that 66% percent of Americans, and 80% of young adults (18-34) would purchase a product that
was more sustainable versus competitors (Sustainable Brands Staff, 2022). This especially interesting despite the rise of U.S. inflation from 1.8% to 8.5% from 2020-2022 (Sustainable Brands Staff, 2022). That shows the importance of sustainability manufacturing even though product prices are rising. Many reasons that companies should pursue sustainability manufacturing include: Increase company efficiency by reducing costs and waste, attain new customers and increase competitive advantage, bolster brand and reputation and build public trust, construct long-term business feasibility and realization, and adapt to regulatory constraints and opportunities (EPA, 2022). All of these reasons help protect our environment and create a more suitable living condition for everyone as a whole.
Looking forward to the responses!
