Introduction
The notion of leadership is dynamic and varied, and it is important in many facets of
life. A wide range of abilities and traits enable effective leaders to motivate and direct people
towards common objectives (Škare et al., 2022). An extensive self-evaluation is necessary to
better understand and develop one's leadership skills. I received a total score of 95 out of 100
on a recent leadership exam, and I will be discussing the insights I learned from it in this
reflection essay. Seven essential components of leadership—personal stability, productivity,
self-management, boundary-setting, communication, quality of work, and teamwork—were
looked at in this extensive evaluation.
I will discuss the relevance of the evaluation results and highlight my leadership
style's main advantages and disadvantages in the parts that follow. I'll also talk about how
these characteristics have shown themselves in my prior successes and setbacks. The article
provides tactics for maximising my abilities and improving my deficiencies in order to
advance. I'll also talk about the communication techniques I prefer to use and consider
possible career routes based on my leadership style. I'll also talk about how this evaluation
has improved my self-awareness and how I might use these realisations to inform my future
life planning.
Assessment
My leadership style has been revealed by the leadership assessment's results, some of
which were novel and others of which confirmed what I already knew about myself. Two of
the seven categories that were measured—self-management and personal stability—stand out
as my strong points. These qualities, which I scored 15/15 and 10/10 on, respectively,
represent my capacity to control my emotions, make choices under duress, and keep my
composure in the face of turbulence. On the other hand, boundary-setting (8/10) and
collaboration (15/25) need improvement.
Self-management and personal stability are the cornerstones of successful leadership.
My ability to control my emotions and retain emotional resilience is a result of self-
management, which is essential for keeping a balanced viewpoint under pressure. In addition,
my own stability helps my team by acting as a solid anchor, particularly in tumultuous
situations. I consider my capacity to control my emotions and remain composed under
pressure to be one of my greatest skills. Even in difficult situations, I am able to make logical

judgements because of my emotional resilience. I was aware of this strength before to the
evaluation since I've often received praise for maintaining my composure under duress.
Another important characteristic identified by the evaluation was having excellent
communication skills. I'm great at listening intently, communicating ideas clearly, and
building strong bonds with my teammates. Throughout my leadership path, I have
deliberately refined my communication skills after realising this strength. My leadership style
is characterised by my consistent delivery of high-quality work. I take great satisfaction in
upholding high standards for the work that my team and I do. I knew I had this strength, and I
worked hard to develop it.
As this evaluation shows, I have strong communication abilities, which have helped
me along the way as a leader. I can listen intently, articulate my thoughts clearly, and
promote harmonious relationships among team members when I communicate effectively.
One of my leadership style's defining characteristics is my consistent delivery of high-quality
work. This strength raises the bar for my team and encourages performance (
Leffler, 2020)
.
My teamwork abilities may use some enhancement, according to the evaluation. This
shortcoming has occasionally made it difficult for team members to collaborate well, which
has hampered project development and frayed relationships. My performance in teamwork
has to be improved, according to the assessment. I've occasionally had trouble collaborating
well, which has occasionally resulted in miscommunications and disputes within the team.
Even though I was somewhat aware of this shortcoming, the evaluation showed that it needed
further focus and improvement. The boundary-setting score points to the necessity for more
distinct boundaries between one's personal and professional lives. Not doing so can result in
burnout, which is a problem I have encountered repeatedly in the past. The findings
suggested that I should draw stronger lines between my personal and professional lives.
Occasionally, not doing so has led to burnout, which has harmed my productivity and general
well-being. Although I was aware of this difficulty, I may not have really appreciated how it
would affect my leadership style until the exam made it clear. While I continue to be quite
productive, there is still space for improvement in how well I manage my time and prioritise
my duties. Even though I am rather productive, I could do a better job of effectively
managing my time and activities. My inadequacies in time management and work
prioritisation, which I was aware of but had not fully addressed, were brought to light by the
evaluation. The evaluation outcomes validated my understanding of specific proficiencies,
including job quality, communication, and self-discipline. They did, however, also highlight
the severity and consequences of my shortcomings in terms of productivity, boundary-setting,

and teamwork, which motivated me to give these areas more careful thought in terms of my
leadership growth.
In the past, my leadership qualities have made major accomplishments possible. My
ability to effectively control myself and maintain my personal stability has helped me to
diffuse tough situations, maintain team morale throughout demanding projects, and make
wise judgements even in trying conditions. Having effective communication skills has been
crucial for settling disputes, making sure that everyone is heard, and promoting teamwork
(
Horishna et al., 2019)
. I oversaw a group of students studying a difficult subject while I was
an undergraduate. My ability to communicate well was really helpful in organising meetings
and guiding conversations in groups. I made sure that everyone was included and had a voice,
which made a big difference in our comprehension of the topic as a group. As a result, our
group as a whole received excellent scores for the course, and I was happy to have
contributed to our academic achievement. My capacity to control my tension and preserve
calm (personal stability) was essential when I had to submit a research project before a panel
of professors and fellow students. I was able to properly answer inquiries and present my
results since I was well-prepared and had a composed manner. My ability to effectively
manage and maintain my composure when delivering complicated information was validated
by the panel's and my peers' good responses. My excellent work ethic was a big help in a
collective endeavour. I always delivered excellent work and had great expectations for the
assignment. My teammates were inspired to do the same, and the end product was
outstanding and won praise from our professor.
On the other hand, difficult circumstances have arisen because of my shortcomings

Longenecker & Mallin, 2019)
. Occasionally, my difficulties with collaboration have resulted
in miscommunications, disputes, and a lack of cohesiveness among the team. I've burned the
candle at both ends due to boundary setting—or lack thereof—which has left me emotionally
and physically exhausted. Occasionally, my inefficiencies in productivity have led to missed
deadlines and poor work management. During a joint study project, I ran into cooperation
issues. It was difficult for me to adjust to new work environments and to have productive
conversations with some team members. These challenges impacted the project's overall
quality by causing misconceptions, slowing down our work, and resulting in less productive
cooperation. I had problems with setting boundaries during a really stressful semester. I
overcommitted to my studies, various part-time jobs, and extracurricular activities. My
academic performance suffered as a consequence of fatigue and a loss of focus on my studies
brought on by the blurred lines between my personal and academic lives. In a different

situation, I had trouble managing my time well and being productive while balancing several
tasks and deadlines. Due to my poor work prioritisation skills, I felt overburdened and missed
deadlines. This caused unnecessary tension and had a bad effect on my academics.
I intend to enhance my abilities in self-management and personal stability in order to
use my capabilities. I'll make use of these abilities to foster a helpful and perceptive work
atmosphere, foster trust among my team members, and ensure a supportive leadership style.
My ability to communicate effectively will also enable me to empower my team, lead fruitful
discussions, and establish clear expectations (
Sousa & Rocha, 2019)
.
My chosen communication approach is definitely a strength given the excellent
communication score. I respect communication that is honest, open, and straightforward.
Understanding other viewpoints requires active listening, and I promote a respectful
workplace environment where each team member feels appreciated. This method creates an
atmosphere that is conducive to open communication and problem-solving while also
fostering trust (
Antonopoulou et al., 2021)
.
Different people communicate in different ways, so it's important to know which ones
work best for you in order to have successful relationships. The following methods of
communication are the most effective for me personally. Since it promotes honesty and trust
among members of a team or group, I favour open and transparent communication. Team
members are more comfortable sharing their ideas, opinions, and concerns when there is open
communication. This transparency promotes a collaborative and problem-solving culture. I've
seen that as a consequence, things go more easily with projects, disputes are settled more
quickly, and people feel appreciated and respected (
Miao, Humphrey & Qian, 2018)
. There are circumstances in which face-to-face contact is optimal, even while open and
honest communication by textual and digital methods is beneficial. The benefits of face-to-
face communication include rapid feedback, tone of voice, and body language. Establishing
personal relationships, discussing delicate topics, and leading brainstorming sessions are all
made easier with this type of communication. The best methods of communication for me
include written communication, in-person interactions, direct discussion for conflict
resolution, frequent and planned check-ins, honest and constructive criticism, open and
transparent communication, and active listening. These approaches foster cooperation, trust,

understanding, and problem-solving in a range of business and personal settings (Kazak,
2021). In my opinion, they are crucial for productive teamwork and effective leadership.
Project management, team leadership, and other tasks requiring excellent communication,
self-control, and personal stability are all good fits for my style of leadership. My desire to
work in project management has been confirmed by the evaluation, which also confirms that
I am a good fit for this position. It has, however, also made me think about looking into
different leadership positions that emphasise boundary-setting and teamwork in order to
broaden my experience and skill set. I am most effective under transformative, servant, democratic, and laissez-faire
leadership styles. Even though I have employed these approaches in my leadership jobs to
varied degrees, I can always improve. I may concentrate on developing certain talents,
creating the ideal team environment, and regularly using these leadership techniques in a
variety of contexts to improve these styles. To further improve and modify these leadership
philosophies, asking mentors and fellow team members for their opinions might yield
insightful information.
My self-awareness has greatly risen as a result of this evaluation, especially in terms
of realising how my limitations affect my leadership style. It gave me new insights into how
my communication style affects my leadership style. My increased understanding of my
strengths and flaws now enhances my ability to adapt and develop as a leader.
My degree of self-awareness has greatly risen as a result of the leadership evaluation, which
gave me unbiased information about my leadership style that I may not have previously fully
understood. My self-management and communication abilities were two of my talents that
the exam affirmed and reinforced. It reaffirmed how crucial these attributes are to my
leadership style and how they enhance my performance as a leader. The evaluation
highlighted particular shortcomings in productivity, boundary-setting, and cooperation.
Although I had some awareness of these areas, the exam made clear where I needed to grow
and how important they are to the way I lead.
Action Plan
I'll use these insights to create growth plans and specific professional goals as I plan
my future. I want to improve my ability to manage teams while also establishing boundaries

and putting my own needs first. Furthermore, I will not waver in my commitment to open and
honest communication as a cornerstone of my leadership approach, fostering a climate of
mutual respect and cooperation.

The outcomes of the leadership evaluation provide a thorough analysis of my
leadership style and highlight both my advantages and disadvantages. This self-reflection
offers a path forward for me to leverage my advantages and improve my shortcomings as a
leader. My professional objectives and growth plans are shaped by my awareness of my
chosen communication style and possible career pathways. My level of self-awareness has

greatly increased as a result of this examination, which will also continue to influence my
future life planning and leadership endeavours. I understand that I need to emphasise
collaboration more in order to overcome my shortcomings. It will be crucial to actively look
for chances for teamwork and individual development in team leadership. I will also
endeavour to establish more defined limits in order to protect my productivity and well-being.
For general improvement, I must focus on effective time management and work
prioritisation. Self-Management and Personal Stability, to maximize these strengths, I will
continue to invest in developing emotional intelligence. This includes practising mindfulness
and stress management techniques to further enhance my ability to stay composed under
pressure. Additionally, I will serve as a mentor or coach for team members, helping them
navigate challenging situations using the lessons I've learned from my own self-management
journey.
To enhance my leadership skills and accomplish both personal and professional
development, I have created a comprehensive action plan. In order to effectively handle high-
stress situations, I will take proactive measures to improve my communication abilities. I
will enrol in public speaking classes and communication seminars to refine my ability to
express a compelling vision and interact with a variety of audiences. I'll welcome candid
criticism from my group in order to develop my communication approach.
Regarding the calibre of my job, I continue to be committed to upholding strict
guidelines and setting unambiguous expectations for my group. I will continue to make
investments in educational opportunities and technical improvements that can raise the
calibre and productivity of work in order to keep up to date with industry best practices. In
addition, I'm committed to improving my cooperation abilities by actively taking part in
leadership development courses and team-building activities. Through these experiences, I
will be able to accept other viewpoints and adjust to different working methods, which will
eventually improve teamwork.
Understanding that limits are essential to preserving a positive work-life balance, I
will create a planned schedule that allows personal time and follows set work hours. The
success of these boundaries will depend heavily on regular assessment and modification.
Simultaneously, I'm determined to increase my productivity through the use of digital
productivity tools, work prioritisation, and time management strategies that will help me
handle deadlines.
Having a thorough awareness of the many leadership philosophies, including
transformational, servant, democratic, and laissez-faire, I will aggressively investigate and

use these philosophies in my leadership toolkit as needed. To assess these styles'

modify my leadership style.
Consistent introspection, result evaluation, and flexibility will continue to be essential
components of my leadership development. The action plan promotes self-awareness and
adaptation in a fast-changing work environment, acting as a dynamic roadmap for my
leadership growth. With these intentional steps, I hope to develop into a more skilled and
adaptable leader who can successfully navigate the many possibilities and difficulties that lie
ahead.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the leadership evaluation has highlighted both my leadership style and
shortcomings, giving me important new perspectives. I have discovered my primary areas of
growth and development as well as my fundamental leadership skills via this process of self-
discovery. My earlier successes have been fueled by my capacity to communicate with my
team and control my emotions. To realise my full potential, though, I need to overcome the
barriers that have been created by my difficulties with boundary-setting and collaboration.
I'm determined to build on my advantages going forward, especially in communication and
self-management. These abilities will continue to be crucial to my leadership style,
empowering and guiding people with effectiveness. I'll actively look for ways to improve my
teamwork abilities since I know how crucial cooperation is to reaching our shared objectives.
I'll also focus on establishing boundaries to have a positive work-life balance, improving my
general well-being and productivity.
My self-awareness has grown as a result of the insights I obtained from this exam,
which also gave me a clear path for my future career and personal planning. I'll keep going
for leadership positions that play to my strengths, and I'm willing to look into new chances
that call for me to hone my collaboration and boundary-setting abilities. I will always strive
to communicate in an honest and open manner, building a climate of cooperation and trust.
To put it simply, the leadership evaluation has acted as a spur for personal development. It
has made clear the way to develop into a more capable and well-rounded leader who can
motivate those around them and adjust to changing circumstances. I'm eager to see how these

on this adventure.
