Business intelligence (BI).
As being one of the innovative technologies, Business intelligence (BI) that is developed by Gartner
Group analyst in mid of 1990s is referring to data analysis, reporting and query tools that can support
the business users wade through sea of data
to be willing to synthesize valuable information from it.
This technology has found a great spread in the business practice and science around the world. The
structure of BI is consisting of multiple processes like:
1. Data Collection: which is representing in the use of operational systems that offer the necessary
data for BI system. In this process, it is necessary to distinct between the internal and external systems
as sources of data.
2. Data Integration: which is represented in transferring from the pre-systems to the processed and
condensed ( ETL) process. It aims to ensure that processed data is able to be stored in data storage and
maintenance.
3. Data Storage:
this stage refers to storing data in secured location like data warehouse or data marts.
4. Data Processing:
Which involve assigning all concepts and tools that are related to processing and

5. Data Presentation:
Which refers to the process of visualizing data in clarified reports that can be
easily understood from managers like dashboards that include tables, graphs, etc.
hence, as it is clear the BI system is based on systematic processes starting from collecting data till
presenting it in clear, concise, and accurate manner that can serve the decision makers.
Q2
The benefits that can be received by start-ups from using BI system are wide, we can present some
