2 Leadership Theory: Application to Advanced Nursing Practice Leadership Theory The ideal leadership theory that serves as part of my philosophy is transformative leadership theory. My philosophy is the prioritization of creativity. Employees and followers are only able to display their creativity when there is a leader encouraging them and engaging them to solve problems within their work environment through being innovative and creative. Anchored on my philosophy of creativity, I believe in the transformative leadership theory. It is the only leadership theory that supports followers who challenge status quo. The transformative leadership role applies in the context of being a mental health practitioner as part of the MSN role. Being an MSN role means advocating for the interest of the healthcare consumers (Collins et al., 2020). Through the transformative leadership model, it is possible to advocate for the correct needs and interests of the healthcare consumers. For example, there is need to eliminate stigma of seeking mental health care that is experienced in certain communities (Labraque et al., 2020). From the discussion elaborated above, it is possible to realize the positivity that exists in adopting transformative leadership. Leadership Roles The current leadership is to guide nurses to offer and deliver quality healthcare. For the future my roles and responsibility extend to advocacy with the main leadership role being to inspire other nurses to make the healthcare environment better for the minority communities. Implications of the leadership to others
3 There is direct implication of adopting the transformative leadership role. The first implication is the individuals must enhance their ability to be creative and innovative. The teams must be set-up in a way they can enhance productivity of ideas. The organization and the community must be influenced by challenging the status quo. Members of the various leadership teams must seek to challenge what they know as part of their advocacy roles. In conclusion, the transformative leadership model is the solution to the various healthcare challenges affecting the society. Through the model, there is assurance of quality delivery of health.
