Introduction
In assessment 2A, I discussed two ethical issues relating to two big organisations in the world, the economic issue of Debate over actors getting a fair share of the profits
from their work, and the social issue of Racial discrimination in Northern Territory Hotels. Through these two issues, I have gained an understanding of the value of ethics in the workplace and how to handle ethical dilemmas. I will discuss how the two mentioned issues will affect my behaviour and way of thinking in my future work environment in this report. 2.
What have you learnt about your own professional ethics from assessment 1, and how will this influence how you might behave? From the assessment 1, I have learned several important lessons about professional
ethics:
-
Honesty and integrity
-
Responsibility -
Influence of others -
Ethical dilemmas This incident from my past work experience at Sofitel hotel has provided a significant
learning opportunity for me. It has taught I the importance of honesty, responsibility, and maintaining high ethical standards in the workplace. I have learned to be cautious about the influence of others and to critically evaluate advice before following it. The experience has also shown I the importance of open communication
with my superiors about any difficulties i’m facing. Moving forward, these lessons will
likely influence my behaviour significantly, making me a more conscientious and ethically oriented professional. Regardless of the field my work in, maintaining integrity and honestly will always be paramount, and this experience has solidified the importance of these values in my professional behaviour. 3.
How might you change your behaviour in your future based on what you
have learned about the two ethical frameworks from assessment 2A? After discussing these two cases in assessment 2A, I recognised more about the ethical dilemmas that had a significant impact on behaviour and thinking. I know that even if my actions are done in good faith and have no negative consequences, there
is still a risk that someone will be harmed. In my future workplace, I will consider my own behaviour and try to find the best balance between individual and strengths. Here is how my might apply these learnings to my future behaviour. -
Utilitarian Approach: This approach encourages you to evaluate the impacts of your actions based on the overall happiness or well-being they generate. You can apply this by considering the broader implications of your decisions, particularly how they affect other people and society at large. In the future, strive to make choices that maximise overall good and minimise harm. For example, in a team project, consider decisions that benefit the majority of the team members rather than just a few individuals (Tannsjo, T. 2013).

You are a franchisee for Fatto’s Burger Palace in a small college town (“where friends meet to eat”).
The specialties of the house are the “Giant Burger Supreme” and the “Hound Doggie,” both of which contain 26% or less fat. Business is good, especially when the college dietician decides to put soy stew on the menu in the dining halls.
Recently, agitation by environmental extremists has forced the restaurant to abandon the convenient clam shell boxes of polystyrene in favor of paper boxes. The latter are a little more expensive, but take up less space. They are somewhat difficult and time-consuming to fold. Customers are now complaining about the oil stains on the inside of the burger box. Water tends to seep through and make the package limp in some cases. This has required putting more napkins in each order. In addition, the blazing red Fatto’s symbol on the top of the boxes now has fuzzy edges, whereas it was sharp and crisp on the clam shell boxes.…

Purpose of This Assignment
The Ethics and Social Responsibility competency addresses how to evaluate ethical dilemmas and formulate a defensible
resolution. The final assessment for this competency is to write a paper that addresses stakeholder analysis, rules for ethical
decision-making, ways to cultivate an ethical corporate culture, business sustainability, and Return on Investment (ROI).
Ethics and Social Responsibility Final Assessment: Outline & Rubric
In your paper, you should identify the various ethical dilemmas and identify the stakeholders involved in the dilemma. Since
the stakeholders have different roles and responsibilities, you should analyze the ethical dilemma(s) from their perspective
and identify how the ethical dilemma affects them. You are expected to synthesize what you have learned about ethical
decision-making, as well as the “rules” and relevant theories of ethics and the importance of business sustainability, and apply
that knowledge to this situation.
