Zone of proximal development difference of actual developmental level and level of potential development (For example a child can say the letter name vs. producing the sound of the letter).
B. F Skinner 1904-1990 B.F. Skinner believed that all learning is a result of operant conditioning.

Universal grammar is the system of grammatical rules and constraints that are consistent in all languages of the world (Pence and Justice, 2017).
Why are these theorists important in early childhood education? These theories are important to help early childhood educators understand how young children learn and develop. Without these theories, it would be a mystery to understand the different ways in which children learn and the importance of their development in early childhood educators.
