I’m hoping to be working out of my home or in a small doctor’s office doing Billing and Coding. I used to work as a CNA before I got the opportunity to be a stay-home-mom and now that my kids are all going to be in school soon, I wanted to further my education. But I wanted to do something that I could still work out of my home if I wanted to.
In Missouri, the statute of limitations is generally 2 years, but there are some exceptions to the statute that may extend the filing deadline. A couple of exceptions to the 2 years of limitations for medical malpractice claims in Missouri are medical malpractice involving minors, the minor under the age of 18 when the malpractice occurred has until their 20 th birthday to bring a malpractice claim, regardless of when it happens. Another exception is medical malpractice that results in a “foreign object” being left in a person’s body in most cases the 2-year statute of limitations begins on the date of discovery of the mistake or from the date the patient should have discovered the mistake.
