Contextual Factors Form.
Describe the contextual factors for learning in the classroom you observed or participated in [or could have observed or participated in] by completing the attached “Contextual Factors for Learning Form.”

Work with your mentor teacher to complete the form. •
The form must be complete. (You need a description of a personal, cultural, OR community asset.)
•
The assets are used to engage students in your lesson. •
You will describe any mentor teacher requirements that will affect the planning of your lesson.

You can use “No” on the Student Factors. •
You will have at least one section of Student Factors complete (Other Learning Needs).

. Lesson Plan Form. Create a detailed lesson plan that is informed by the contextual factors for learning from part A, using the attached “Direct Instruction Lesson Plan Template.”
•
All parts of the lesson plan must be complete except for a summative assessment. •
Choose a formative assessment with a tangible item. (You will have to include two student work samples in your Task 3 Assessment.) •
The lesson plan should have enough detail that another teacher could use the plan to deliver the lesson. •
Your lesson objective must include three parts-
condition, behavior, and a measurable criterion. •
You must describe how your assessment aligns with the learning objective including how the objective will be measured by the assessment. •
We do not recommend an assessment for group projects. You will need two individual assessment samples for Task 3. •

Example:
You used Explicit Instruction to teach students how to use a graphic organizer. Your scholarly source would be about the benefits of using Explicit Teaching to teach a new skill.
