The most popular websites with interesting forums for networking industry professionals are: Quora, Stack overflow & Reddit. Among these I mostly prefer Stack overflow and Quora. Quora is dedicated to the sharing of knowledge and expertise. Quora is a platform with questions and answers, where users can ask questions on different topics and receive answers from the community. It aims to connect people with knowledge and expertise. Users can follow topics, write their answers, vote on or downvote responses and participate in discussions. Quora's also a place where users can create blogs and share knowledge. Stack Overflow is designed for Technical Problem Solving and Coding Discussions. For programmers and developers, it is a dedicated platform for questions and answers. The aim is to address technical problems and help programmers in their programming efforts. Programmers, software developers, and IT professionals make up the Stack Overflow community. It has been known for strict instructions and a focus on technical accuracy. Reddit is packed with communities and discussions on a broad range of topics. Reddit is a social news aggregation and discussion platform which allows you to post information, images, text posts, as well as take part in discussions on many topics and interests. Users may vote up or down on posts and comments, create subreddits, take part in conversations as well as share content. In addition to the rewards for active and valuable Contributors, Reddit provides "karma" points. 2)Read through two or three interesting threads on each forum. What topics did you read about and what did you learn? Quora: I found this interesting thread in Quora: If HTTPS is more secure than HTTP, why don't all websites use HTTPS? I have learned that HTTPS is more expensive than HTTP. It takes an SSL or TLS certificate, which can be costly for some organizations to implement HTTPS. The cost of purchasing and maintaining certificates may not be available to small websites. Stack Overflow: For three years, I've been using stack overflow. I'm mainly using it for programming to figure out what caused the error. And the various solutions that experts have in place for errors. The best answers will be highlighted and voted on, and people will share their code snippets and explain the reasons for errors and all answers will be voted on. Why do requests and responses get lost? I have learned that It's possible that a request made from the client took a particular path which happened to not work at that particular moment. These are unavoidable - they're simply a result
of the internet, which is built upon unstable components and which TCP manages to ensure a certain kind of guarantee for. Reddit: I read about the difference between subnet mask and default gateway. I learned that A subnet mask is a way to say what part of an IP is the prefix of the subnet. A default gateway is a machine that deals with all IPs that are outside of the range of the network or subnet. 3) Join at least one of these forums and post a thread asking about something you’ve learned in networking and still need some clarification. What question did you ask and what kinds of responses did you get? I have joined stack overflow and asked a question that : Can I design and implement my own TCP/IP, UDP, IP like protocol? If yes, how can I do them? I'm waiting for the responses .
