Code of Ethics as an ethical
guide for your professional actions.
Write a brief response to the following request from your boss:
“Since the company is funding three members of your team to earn the CISSP certification we
are very interested in their successful completion.
We would like you to plan to have them take
the exam at different times.
That way, the first one who takes it can perform a “brain dump” of
the questions immediately after taking the exam and the others can utilize it as they study.
The
next two can add questions after they take the test.
This way, we will be more successful and
spend less on the exams.”
You will be graded by how well you explain/repeat the relevant parts of the (ISC)

Demonstrate how you are using the professional ethical
guidelines to support your argument.
Include citations and references as appropriate.
Response
While I understand the want to have these three members earn their CISSP certification and the
cost associated with it, I would prefer they all take the test at the same time.
Professionally I
would rather they study and learn the material on their own and not rely solely on the other
people to feed them answers.
On an ethical level, I think that goes against the ISC2 Code of
Ethics, as it is not acting honestly and is also not a viable way to advance nor protect the IT
profession.
This would also make me question the confidence I would have that they each are
receiving a certificate on their knowledge rather than other people’s knowledge.
