IT 226 4-1 Activity: Blog Post for Revision SnarlReporter Introducing SnarlReporter. SnarlReporter is our newest artificial intelligence (Al) driven web application currently in development. SnarlReporter will monitor all public traffic cameras in the United States and create a color-coded real time visual representation of the traffic problems present in any county. This app will benefit both government officials and average drivers, by helping see how and where traffic problems appear. The goal of the developers is to provide a tool that can be used by city planners, as well as state and federal governments. When officials are creating transportation improvement plans for both rail and roadway modifications, expensive and time-consuming studies are required. SnarlReporter seeks to change that by providing publicly available data on current traffic patterns and accident figures at a relatively low cost. By eliminating the need for extensive long-term studies, SnarlReporter has the potential to realize significant cost savings in a quicker time frame. SnarlReporter plans to have multiple access levels available for users. There will be a base plan offered to customers free of charge where the customer can view, but not download or save, available data. In addition to the base plan, customers will have the option to pay for a plan that allows the customer to obtain a detailed report containing customizable data. The customer will have the ability to customize these reports using a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly data, with the ability to focus on specific times of day for particular areas of concern. Multiple report options will be available, and the paid subscription will also include an extensive user manual outlining the different report and viewing options available. These options include toggling individual data points off and on, individualizing font colors, and reorganizing how the report data is displayed, as well as the ability to insert custom fields into the reports. The app will also allow the user to import their own spreadsheets into the app and merge the spreadsheet data with the app data. The aim is for the reports to be extremely customizable for any projects they are needed for. In future releases, SnarlReporter anticipates being able to use accident data to explain some of the atypical traffic jams that are seen on the roadways. This additional feature, however, will only be able to be added after the app has been up and running for a while and a significant amount of data has been collected, but it has the potential to be a game changer in the field of traffic planning and design!
