Module 7 Dropbox- Homeland Security Prompt: Refer to pages 10 - 12 of the below ODNI 2019 Worldwide Threat Assessment. Write a summary of the threat posed by the Islamic State and a summary of the threat posed by Al-Qaeda. Each summary should be a minimum of 100 words. 1. In 2019, ISIS remained a global threat. Having lost much of its territorial control in Iraq and Syria, the terrorist group shifted its focus to even more terrorism and directing attacks worldwide. ISIS has terrorist groups in other countries which make them capable of inspiring or coordinating terrorist attacks in different parts of the world. ISIS is also known for guerrilla warfare and undercover attacks which makes them a threat in Iraq, Syria, and other conflict zones. 2. Al-Qaeda has still been an active terrorist group for quite some time. Their leader Osama bin Laden was taken down by the US Navy Seals on may 2nd 2011. With that being said Al Qaeda still poses a serious risk to many countries according to the US homeland security threat assessment. The terrorist group has groups stationed in various countries like Afghanistan and some parts of Africa. Al-Qaeda still has also made multiple threats to carry out attacks against the US, Europe and other countries.
