Project performance metrics are about using the resources wisely in or between projects. Earned value analysis (EVA) is a method that project managers use to keep track of work performed and progress on the project on top of cost and schedule reports. Per PMBOK, earned value analysis (EVA) means "An analysis method that uses a set of measures associated with scope schedule, and cost to determine the cost and schedule performance of a project." (PMI, 2021, p. 239) The two learning activities that benefited me in project management learning and for my future would be Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling Readings. The second is A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). By reading Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling , I learned so much about project management in detail. For example, I learned about the difference between the project manager’s and project sponsor’s jobs. I also learned in WBS what kind of detailed information will be needed, and much more. Many study cases in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) helped me understand more things that could happen during a project and the issues behind them. Also, the meanings of many terms used in project management have special definitions, which help me understand what others mean when they use them. These books help me with my management style and how to run a project. Right now, I am supporting a small seasonal project at work. Last season, that person used to order the amount she thought would be needed, and everyone could submit the expenses they thought were related. There was no timetable, rules, or documents. If the products missed the event date, then nothing would happen. Now I understand that even if it is a small project, I should collect all data and set a schedule and timetable for each task with a responsible person, rules, document system, and more.
