This document will first be submitted for Peer Review , then revised to submit to Chalk & Wire (link)by week 3 end. Your Policy Document should be your final draft. Using the suggested template below create a Code of Ethics policy to be used in your selected organization and department. Research and review healthcare code of ethics policies to better understand the content provided to employees in an effort to establish the organizations policy on ethical conduct. Your Code of Ethics Policy will be uploaded to the Peer review thread in week 3, where you will submit your own document, and provide feedback to one classmate. Use Peer Review feedback to make any revisions you feel necessary and submit final draft of your policy to the Chalk & Wire link provided. Requirements Your responses should be thorough, well-conceived college-level responses that are grammatically correct. Justify your responses with facts and details from your research and reading. Include an APA-formatted reference page and in-text citations. Write your answers using complete sentences. Create your assignment in a Microsoft Word document and submit your file using the Upload Instructions below. Remember to proofread your work before you submit it. CODE OF ETHICS Mahogany Meadows Assisted Living Facility ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF PURPOSE: The purpose of this policy is to establish a code of ethics for the administrative staff of Mahogany Meadows Assisted Living Facility. This policy aims to ensure ethical conduct, uphold professional standards, and promote the well-being and safety of our residents. CODE OF ETHICS: Administrative staff members at Mahogany Meadows are expected to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and honesty in all aspects of their work. They should act ethically, honestly, and transparently, and conduct themselves with professionalism and accountability. CONFIDENTIALITY: Administrative staff members must strictly adhere to healthcare confidentiality requirements and protect the privacy and confidentiality of our residents' personal and medical information. This includes maintaining strict confidentiality of resident records, conversations, and any other sensitive information obtained during the course of their duties. STAFF-PATIENT INTERACTIONS: At Mahogany Meadows, our administrative staff members are committed to providing resident-centered care. They must treat residents with respect, empathy, and compassion, taking into consideration their individual preferences, needs, and cultural backgrounds. CONFLICT OF INTEREST: Administrative staff members should avoid conflicts of interest that may compromise their professional judgment or the best interests of our residents. They must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest to their supervisor or the appropriate authority and refrain from engaging in activities that could impair their objectivity or compromise the quality of care provided. STANDARDS OF CONDUCT PROFESSIONALISM : Administrative staff members are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism in their interactions with residents, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders. They should display courtesy, respect, and cultural sensitivity at all times. COMMUNICATION: Administrative staff members should communicate effectively and promptly with residents, families, and other staff members. They
should actively listen, provide accurate information, and respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely and empathetic manner. COMPLIANCE WITH POLICIES AND REGULATIONS: Administrative staff members must adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. They should stay updated on any changes and ensure their actions are in accordance with the facility's guidelines and legal requirements. TEAMWORK & COLLABORATION: Administrative staff members should foster a collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and cooperation among colleagues. They should support and assist their fellow team members, share knowledge and resources, and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Administrative staff members are encouraged to pursue ongoing professional development and seek opportunities for growth and improvement. They should stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to enhance their skills and contribute to the overall improvement of the facility. POLICY & PROCEDURE FRAUD - Administrative staff members at Mahogany Meadows must not engage in any form of fraudulent activity, including but not limited to misappropriation of funds, embezzlement, or manipulation of financial records. Any suspected fraudulent activity should be reported immediately using the facility's internal reporting procedures. INTERNAL REPORTING - Mahogany Meadows encourages its administrative staff members to report any concerns, violations, or potential ethical misconduct through the designated internal reporting channels. Reports will be thoroughly investigated, and confidentiality and protection against retaliation will be ensured. WHISTLE BLOWER - Mahogany Meadows is committed to protecting whistleblowers who report suspected violations of ethical standards. Retaliation against individuals who make good faith reports is strictly prohibited, and the facility will take appropriate measures to investigate and address reported concerns. DISCIPLINARY - Violations of this Code of Ethics may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to verbal or written warnings, suspension, or termination of employment. Disciplinary procedures will be conducted in accordance with Harmony Haven's established policies and procedures. By adhering to this Code of Ethics, administrative staff members at Mahogany Meadows Assisted Living Facility contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment for our residents. It is the responsibility of each staff member to review, understand, and comply with this policy and to seek guidance from their supervisor or the appropriate authority if any ethical concerns arise.
