1-2 Short Paper: Roles of Core Technologies in an Effective IT System
September 18, 2023
The five core technologies work together perfectly in every system implemented by professionals to make sure that any issues that arise can be traced back to an error that occurs is due to the user and not the fault of the system. This may seem like a stretch, but when everything
is implemented properly there should not be any issues with the system.
Core Technology 1:
Computer Programs and Programming- This is how the users in the system would access and interact with the work you as the systems architect have put into place. Making sure that every user has the correct OS and programs installed on their computer, or making sure that they will be able to gain access to the correct programs, is the best way to allow
the workflow of the users to be uninterrupted. Different users may require different operating systems to best perform their duties, with designers preferring Mac based systems while users in the datacenter may prefer to use Linux based systems. Having programmers on staff may also help to set up automation processes for other teams to use and may also help to decrease the usage percentage of the other users as well.
Core Technology 2:
Computer Networks-
Making sure that the network you have set up for all
the users in your system is stable and dependable is incredibly important in making sure that the workflow of the organization isn’t interrupted. Making sure that the network your system is on has 100% uptime is also important. This would, in every instance, require a team of network engineers to perform daily upkeep and repair any errors that may occur. Core Technology 3:
Databases-
These are used far more often than I thought they were when first getting into the field. Every team uses some form of databases in their everyday tasks and
making sure that everything in the database is organized and structured correctly, with only some
types of data being able to be entered into certain fields, makes the workflow of the team members move incredibly smooth. Having reliable and organized data helps to make sure that the data can be trusted and allows management to create the most educated business decisions based off of it.Now, with a system as important as the one you are collaborating with you want to
make sure that everything is secured. Core Technology 4:
Information Assurance-
The team members working with this technology
may not just be a team making sure that the organization is complying with state and federal information laws, but may also include network security, user access permissions, and internet security for the entire organization. These people may not always be the most popular, with some
people believing they are overly cautious with their policies and permissions, but they are vital to
making sure that everything stays working the way it’s supposed to.
Core Technology 5: Web Technologies
- The final of the core technologies helps to make sure that the computers in the system aren’t bogged down with the various applications, slowing them
down to the point where the user is complaining that they need a new computer. This allows the team members to access their data and project on any device as long as they are able to log into. With the reliance on stable and fast internet connection to make sure the user can access the projects quickly, it’s important to make sure the networking backing the entire system can withstand the workload you and the team will be putting it under.
