Evaluation Report
You are to write an evaluation report, addressing all of the points below.
Roster Software
How well did the software work for your requirements? What features or functions worked well and
what could have been useful that was not available? How easy was it to use? Was it clear to staff?
What were the main benefits of using the software, what were the limitations?
Provide an overview of the software using screenshots to identify useful tools and functions that
helped you develop the roster.

How well does the program fit
your requirements?
I used to be Google Zoom shift. Everything
including hours, date, pay rate and breaks
were very easy to put it in the software
which made it very easy to fulfil my
requirements. It was very
easy to make changes and update as well.
What features or functions work well, and
what might be helpful if they are not
available?
Calculating total hours and weekly amount,
date and making updates and editing roaster
was very easy. I would use deputy software if
this was not
available.
How easy is it to use?
This was my first time as I used to use
Microsoft excel previously. It took me a little
while to learn about software and later on it
was
very easy to use.
Are the staff clear?
Yes, as I mailed the 3 weeks roaster and
changes as well, they are very clear.
What are the main benefits
of using? software, what
are the limitations?
It takes very little time to make the roaster, we
can calculate the budget and dates are very
clear with the pay rates. For making a roaster,
I would
say there is no limitation on this software.
Roster development process
Provide an evaluation of how successful the roster development process was undertaken. Include
any feedback provided during discussions with staff (your role play group). What could you do to
improve the process? What action do you need to take?
Answer: I asked all my team members to mail me there availability before making
roaster which they did on time. After that as I previously used to make the roaster in
Microsoft excel and print it, I wanted to make some changes on the way of making
roaster. I wanted to make it through software that shows on internet rather than
wasting paper every week. So, I looked for the best software to make roaster in
google and I found two software i.e. deputy software and zoomshift. I decided to go
with the zoomshift as I found it less complicated and more updated than deputy.
After that I logged into the zoomshift, inserted all the staff name, hours they were
going to work, pay rate and position for 3 weeks. This was how the roaster was
made.

Staffing requirements
How well did you consider the staffing requirements? Were you able to roster on the right amount of
staff for each shift?
Was there a good mix of skill and combination of staff? Did you take into
consideration social and cultural factors that affect staff rostering? Was it easy to make the changes
and incorporate the necessary skills whilst also meeting operational requirements?

How well do you consider the staffing needs of?
As some time of the restaurant is quite while some time has heavy traffic, I had to
take a deep look at the traffic of customer while considering the staffing.
Can you assign the required number of employees for each shift?
Yes, with better coordination with my supervisor i.e. manager of restaurant 31 Jarrod
Elson I was able to find out how many staff needed for each shift.
Is there a good mix of skills and combinations among employees?
Yes, Bipul and Utsav are very good cook. Bipul is better at grilling while Utsav is
better doing pan and I put Ridam on frying as they are good on those
departments. But some time we also change the departments to make sure they
learn other skills as well.
Have you considered cultural and social factors that affect employee salaries?
Yes, we looked at social and cultural factors that affect employee employment. Utsav
has taken off from work on Monday and Thursday as he goes to temple for his
cultural curriculum on those days.
Is it easy to make changes and use the necessary skills
while meeting the? operational requirements?
Making changes on a roaster that is made and published is never an easy job. But
the software we used was very efficient so I did not find difficulty like before as I
could delete and add the whole shift in just one click.

Were you able to meet the operational requirements such as staffing skills, costs, the amount of staff
needed for each shift. Did you meet the required budget? What improvements could you make?

What improvements can you make?
The roaster I made was very good but never perfect. As I made roaster and asked
the crew members if they have plans or any events although they sent me their
aviability. Because of this, I had to make changes in roaster. Next time I would ask
all the crew members if they have any plans, events, festivals or anything that can

stop them from working before making and publishing roaster.
Conclusions
What are your overall conclusions? Do you have any recommendations? Are there any actions that
you need to take in order to improve the roster development process?
All the crew members were very happy with the roaster, although I had to make
changes at very last moment I found a bit hard to find staff which I did. The software
was updated and it was very easy to make changes. It was new experience as we
change method of making roaster from paper to software.
