In working with Microsoft Project, discuss what have you found to be the most useful features, and which have been the most difficult to use. In replies to peers, provide troubleshooting tips you have used
or researched to address the features that have posed difficulties in using the software.
Hello professor and class,
Though I have not had much experience with using Microsoft Project, the useful features I have found include the project timeline view, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, collaboration, and planning & scheduling. The project timeline view allows the user to view milestones, change the date format, and align tasks to make the process easier. “It gives the bird's eye view picture of the project which you can use in presentations to the executive management and the stakeholders. (Para, 2019)” Since a lot of people will work on one project at the same time including stakeholders, investors, project workers, upper management/CEOs, and customers, communication and sharing important details on the
project can all be done within Microsoft Project. The user can manage multiple projects at once with the Master Project tool in Microsoft Project which is useful when working on several projects at once. Planning and scheduling is the most important step in project management since making changes mid project can add time to the project or cause it to fail. Some of the features in Microsoft Project help with aspects like prioritizing, task management, and team calendar. Learning a new software requires practice
and patience, which has been the most difficult thing for me. Getting the files to save on my computer took me a while but could only be done through the C Drive under users (in case any of my classmates have difficulties like I did). References
