Think of all of the conflicts that you have read about in chapters 1-23. Fill in the chart below with the conflicts that the characters experience. You may refer back to the lesson to review different types of conflict. Each response is worth 2 points. Conflict #1 The widow cannot adopt Huck, according to Papa.      Explanation of Conflict The judge was quite keen that Huck be adopted, as was the widow who had attempted to assist him. But Pap, Huck's biological father, won't allow that to happen in the slightest.      Type of Conflict Man Vs Man      Conflict #2 Pap' takes a huck.      Explanation of Conflict Huck is effectively kidnapped by his father, Pap. And he severely beats him while taking him to the cabin in the woods.      Type of Conflict Man Vs Man      Conflict #3 Jim makes a prediction that a storm is coming.      Explanation of Conflict Jim foresaw a storm, so Huck and Jim will have to wait for the waves and fog to subside.      Type of Conflict Man Vs Nature      Conflict #4 Huck desired Jim's removal.      Explanation of Conflict Huck debated whether to sell Jim or turn him in. However, he had made the last-minute decision not to do it.      Type of Conflict Man Vs Self      Conflict #5 Huck and Jim head off.      Explanation of Conflict Huck pretends to be dead, locates Jim, and they both depart together.
