1 WEEK 6 DISCUSSION Week 6 Discussion Many companies have migrated to the cloud. One such company is Netflix. The movie- streaming company has made a comeback since it was deemed to have fallen in the eyes of consumers and stock market after proposing that the company be split into two. Today, Netflix is making its own shows and dealing with many problems and handling a huge number of customers at the same time. With this, Netflix migrated to the cloud. However, the main reason for the company migrating was because it had outpaced the capabilities of its traditional data centers and wanted more scalability in order to meet increasing demand and ballooning activities (Datta, 2020). To successfully migrate to the cloud, Netflix chose Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the provider (Datta, 2020). In comparison to other providers, AWS provided Netflix with the greatest scalability capabilities as well as availability features. It took about seven years for Netflix to fully migrate their data centers from on-premises to cloud. Today, the company has completely migrated to the cloud. Since Netflix migrated to the cloud, it has benefited from several advantages associated with cloud computing. First, the company has successfully reduced its costs and complexity because of cloud migration. Additionally, the company now has the capability of scaling either up or down its resources based on demand (Datta, 2020). Besides the company benefitting directly, the cloud migration has also benefitted its customers. Netflix’s services and content is now reliable and available to its customers always as it the content has been distributed across multiple regions and zones. Additionally, there is less failure and outage which has been beneficial to customers (Datta, 2020). Netflix successfully to the cloud and this means that there are some takeaways from Netflix’s cloud migration that could benefit the cloud strategy of the Coca-Cola Company. The major application is to tailor

Additionally, the Coca-Cola Company can learn to maintain a focus on cloud operations and governance similar to what Netflix has done (Datta, 2020). References Datta, S. (2020).
