Transformational Leadership
Servant Leadership
Situational Leadership
Q2. How do you develop leadership skills? (2 pts)
Self-awareness, the ability to recognize your own virtues, flaws, ideals, and
beliefs.
Ongoing education includes reading, going to workshops, and looking for
mentorship.
Effective communication, being able to express ideas clearly and actively listen
to others.
Creating a connection and foundation of trust with team members is relationship
building.
Making decisions: Improving your ability to make decisions.
Emotional intelligence: Acknowledging and controlling your own feelings as well
as those of others.
Q3. Describe four characteristics of a successful team. (2 pts)
Clear Goals: A successful team has well-defined, achievable objectives that every
member understands.
Communication: Effective communication is vital, with team members openly
sharing information and ideas.
Collaboration: Team members work together cohesively, leveraging each other's
strengths.
Accountability: Each member takes responsibility for their role and contributions
to the team's success.
Q4. Why are greenwater infrastructure (GWI) devices are not used for flood mitigation?
What are the reasons for using GWI underdrains and overflow devices? (2 pts)
Greenwater infrastructure devices are primarily intended for stormwater runoff
management, water quality improvement, and lowering urban heat island effects;
they are often not employed for flood prevention. Under some circumstances,
such as during periods of intense rainfall, GWI underdrains and overflow devices
are utilized to manage stormwater and avert floods. By preventing sewage
system overflow and assisting in the management of water flow in metropolitan
settings, these devices lower the possibility of localized floods. GWI is not
intended for extensive flood control, but rather for sustainable urban growth.
Q5. How are Stations (STA) used in civil engineering projects and drawings? Provide
three examples of when stations would be labeled on an engineering drawing. (2 pts)
(Reference Week 4 - Plan Reading V2 document)
Road Design: Stations are used to mark points along a road's alignment,
indicating changes in curvature, intersections, or other key features.
Bridge Design: Stations are used to define the locations of bridge abutments,
piers, and other structural components in relation to the road or railway.
Pipeline Layout: Stations are used to identify the positions of access points,
valves, or other infrastructure elements along a pipeline route.
Q6. Write the following in proper station format:
●
204
●
1507
●
305.61
●
17.00
STA 2+04.00
STA 15+07.00
STA 3+05.61
STA 0+17.00
Q7. What is the distance between stations – STA 5+31 and STA 19+55? (1 pt)
1955-531= 1424
