What if you disagree on the assessment outcome?
You can appeal against a decision made in regards to your assessment. An appeal should only be made if
you have been assessed as ‘Not Yet Competent’ against a specific unit and you feel you have sufficient
grounds to believe that you are entitled to be assessed as competent. You must be able to adequately
demonstrate that you have the skills and experience to be able to meet the requirements of units you are
appealing the assessment of. Your trainer will outline the appeals process, which is available to the student. You can request a form to
make an appeal and submit it to your trainer, the course coordinator, or the administration officer. The
AHIC will examine the appeal and you will be advised of the outcome within 14 days. Any additional
information you wish to provide may be attached to the appeal form.

them off as your own by failing to give appropriate acknowledgement. This includes material sourced
from the internet, RTO staff, other students, and from published and unpublished work.

includes:
•
Paraphrasing and presenting work or ideas without a reference
•
Copying work either in whole or in part
•
Presenting designs, codes or images as your own work
•
Using phrases and passages verbatim without quotation marks or referencing the author
or web page

Collusion:
Collusion means unauthorised collaboration on assessable work (written, oral or practical) with other
people. This occurs when a student presents group work as their own or as the work of someone else.
Collusion may be with another RTO student or with individuals or student’s external to the RTO. This
applies to work assessed by any educational and training body in Australia or overseas.
Collusion occurs when you work without the authorisation of the teaching staff to:
•
Work with one or more people to prepare and produce work
•
Allow others to copy your work or share your answer to an assessment task
•
Allow someone else to write or edit your work (without rto approval)
•
Write or edit work for another student
•
Offer to complete work or seek payment for completing academic work for other students.
Both collusion and plagiarism can occur in group work. For examples of plagiarism, collusion and
academic misconduct in group work please refer to the RTO’s policy on Academic integrity, plagiarism
and collusion. Plagiarism and collusion constitute cheating. Disciplinary action will be taken against students who
engage in plagiarism and collusion as outlined in RTO’s policy. Proven involvement in plagiarism or collusion may be recorded on students’ academic file and could lead
to disciplinary action.

Write short analysis of these variations:
The venue was over budgeted $5000 due to misadventure with our first choice of venue. An unexpected pull out from one of our main speakers cost us an additional $1,500 compare to our previous offer. From these two main over-budget situations, it is very unfortunate. However, with the new publicity due to other change, we were able to save more than $7,000 to our marketing/publicity cost. 2.
Send an email to the Manager (your assessor).
The text of the email should be in grammatically correct English, written in an appropriate (polite, business-like) style.
The email text should include your review and analysis of the project costs

Upon review our cost analysis on the project, it went quite well despite some of the misadventures and the unpredictable. We made any pre-cautions we could to avoid these. However, our incomes are remarkable compare to the additional effort and resources we put into this event. Dear Project Officer
I recently attended a conference that included a comedian and singer. I found this to make the conference much more interesting and memorable. I would like to incorporate this into our program. I have made some enquiries and identified two suitable candidates. This would involve an additional cost of $4,000 which I am hoping can be accommodated. Regards
Marketing Manager

Develop a conference finances report. Write a short report for the Senior Management Team about project costs from the completed conference. Assume that the conference is now completed, and you have been provided with the final costs. Review the information provided to calculate and report on the success of the conference assuming that a 50% profit was required. Assume also that Senior Management has identified that, while the conference had a very positive outcome, they would like further recommendations on best practice project cost estimating. Provide at least four recommendations which you consider would improve project estimating for future projects. Use the Conference Finances Report Template to guide your work.

Recommendations
As requested by Senior Management, recommendations for more accurate project estimating are as follows: In terms of prediction to Venues, it could be more accurate if we obtain a temporary quote from the venue then we give confirmation within a few days withholding the quote amount, this both ensure the venue will be available for disposal and no more surprise additional costs. Speakers are somewhat unpredictable factor just like any other entertainment elements. This could be improved by invoking a contract-like bonding relationship to ensure speakers are not permitted to pull out of the event in the last minute without invoking major financial consequences to the speaker.
