In an open Excel workbook select File > Options and, when the Options dialogue box appears, click Add-ins . 2. In the Manage drop down menu select Excel Add-ins , then click Go . 3. When the Add-ins dialogue box appears, select the Analysis ToolPak check box, then click OK . 4. You will find the Data Analysis ToolPak in the Ribbon of the Data tab. Calculate Descriptive Statistics 1. Open the workbook entitled module-2_activity-8_raw-data and select the descriptive-success- percent tab. 2. Select the Data tab, click the Data Analysis button and, in the Data Analysis dialogue box, select Descriptive Statistics, then click OK . 3. In the Descriptive Statistics dialogue box take the following actions. a. Key in the range of cells containing PERCENT values. b. Select the Labels in first row checkbox . c. Select the Output Range radio button and key in the upper-left corner of output range. d. Select the following checkboxes , then click OK . i. Summary Statistics ii. Confidence Level for Mean (and entry of 95% is appropriate) iii. Kth Largest (an entry of 1 is appropriate) iv. Kth Smallest (and entry of 1 is appropriate) 4. Create a Visual Representation 1. Open the workbook entitled module-2_activity-8_raw-data and select the histogram-success- percent tab. 2. Next to the input range (PERCENT) create a BIN range as shown below. 3. Select the Data tab, click the Data Analysis button and, in the Data Analysis dialogue box, select Histogram, then click OK . 4. In the Histogram dialogue box take the following actions. a. Key in the input range ( PERCENT) and the BIN range . b. Select the Labels checkbox . c. Select the Output Range radio button and key in the upper-left corner of output range. d. Select the following checkboxes , then click OK . i. Cumulative Percentage ii. Chart Output 5.
