2. Identify potential unplanned scheduling interruptions that may impact your schedule. (Add bullet points as needed.) Vehicle breakdowns and road closures due to bad weather. Scrolling through Tik Tok when I should be sleeping. A sick child that needs to be monitored. 3. Identify how you will choose between tasks or events that take place at the same time on your schedule. I will organize my tasks by priority and limit my distractions. If necessary, I will eliminate a low-priority task or move it to another time. By talking with my family and explaining my schedule, they can be considerate of my priorities. 4. Identify the SNHU resources, social supports, and motivational factors that will help the most with managing your time. (Add bullet points as needed.) The calendar tool in Brightspace will help me most in managing my time, with the ability to prioritize my daily tasks. The weekly timetable will remind me of what needs to be completed and what is to come next. The 24/7 drop-in tutoring will also help me the most in managing my time. With this resource, I will save time when struggling to comprehend an assignment and what is required of me. The social support that will help me most in managing my time is my family. They are my biggest fans and always have my back. When I feel distracted or discouraged, they lift me up with moral support and help guide me to the right path. My motivational factors include providing a better life for my family and the desire for a leadership position that allows me to be home daily, with a higher salary. This means I will have the opportunity to spend more time with my wife and children and be able to provide more for them financially. 5. Explain how you will take ownership of your future academic success by managing your time with SNHU resources, social support, and motivational factors. I will take ownership of my future academic success by using my weekly planner and scheduling my days accordingly. I will log in to Brightspace each day at 6:00 am to review my grades and assignments, post discussions, and plan for the week ahead by applying my tasks to my calendar. During this time, I will also review which SNHU resources are needed to complete my assignments and organize my daily to-do list. I will reach out to my social support daily to let them know how I am progressing and if I am experiencing any difficulties. Remembering that I am earning this degree to create a better life for my family and gain the necessary knowledge to advance my career, will keep me highly motivated. I will be successful by keeping my motivational factors in mind and staying focused on the tasks at hand.

Part 2: Mission Statement and Goals] 6. Revise your original mission statement. Include the feedback you received on that draft. My mission statement is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Operations management within 5 years or by June of 2027. I aspire to gain a leadership role with my current employer, Dot foods and continue my passion for the transportation industry. My focus is to become a director of transportation at one of our many distribution centers and utilize the knowledge I will gain through my employer and educational experiences. By obtaining this position I will receive a larger salary, have more time at home, and be able to provide a quality way of life for my family. While becoming a respected leader amongst my peers, I can suggest and implement cost-saving measures to company policy, direct deliveries, and enhance productivity through efficiency. By doing so, our company can pass on these savings to our customer base, thus the consumer. 7. Revise your original goals. Incorporate the feedback you received on that draft. My first SMART, short-term goal is to earn an “A” on each assignment that is required to earn my degree. I will be successful by reviewing each of the assignment’s rubric requirements and completing the work according to my time management schedule. I will spend one hour each morning rechecking my schoolwork, making corrections, and submitting my papers for a written review. I will spend one hour each evening reading from my textbooks, utilizing SNHU tutoring, and completing my assignments. This will ensure I complete the assignments correctly and promptly. I will know I am successful by reviewing my grades and embracing feedback for improvement. My second SMART goal is to continue my personal SWOT assessment and identify my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. By reflecting on who I am and who I want to be, I am better able to determine what areas of improvement I should focus on. This will enable me to grow as a better student and a stronger leader and these are qualities needed to complete my mission. I will know I have been successful in meeting this goal by completing a new assessment each month and identifying areas of improvement. This goal will be ongoing since there is always a need for improvement. My third SMART goal will be to utilize my academic and social resources daily. Utilizing the Shapiro library, writing center, and drop-in tutoring throughout the week will help me to complete my assignments correctly. Talking with my social support every day will remind me that my family is counting on me to do my best. I will be successful by reaching out for help and knowing which resources will best aid me in achieving my mission statement. I have set this goal for the next 6 months and beyond. 8. Describe the importance of setting goals on your academic journey. Setting goals helps to prepare for the future. We will see distractions, obstacles, and perhaps some setbacks but by setting goals we learn to manage our time and focus on our resources more efficiently. When I set a goal, I get a surge of ambition and motivation to achieve that goal. For me, this motivation sets a chain reaction to complete all the goals I have set for myself, which will in turn help to achieve my mission statement. Without setting goals it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to earn my degree.
9. Identify SNHU resources you will use to help achieve your mission statement and goals (different from time management). (Add bullet points as needed.) The Shapiro Library. Academic coaching. 10. Identify academic skills and social support to help you achieve your goals and mission statement. (Add bullet points as needed.) Academic coaching. SNHU workshops. My family. My mentor at my place of employment. 11. Identify motivational factors to help you achieve your goals and mission statement. (Add bullet points as needed.) The desire to provide a better life for my family. The feeling that I have more to offer than only driving a truck. Proving to myself that I can succeed in earning a degree. 12. Explain how you will take ownership of your future academic success by using SNHU resources, academic skills, social support, and motivational factors to achieve your mission statement and goals. I will take ownership of my academic success by applying myself to a strict time management schedule using all the resources I have available to me. By utilizing SNHU resources, academic skills, social support, and motivational factors, I am able to expand my own skill set and knowledge through education, and by embracing diverse perspectives through feedback. By taking ownership I can positively enhance the lives of those I love and interact with. In doing so, I will be successful in achieving my mission statement and goals.
