SNHU 107 Module Four Activity Template
Complete all parts of this template by replacing the bracketed text with your responses and submit them
for grading and feedback.
1.
Draft an academic personal mission statement in the box below. Do the following in your draft:
a.
Write a sentence or two summarizing your purpose for pursuing higher education and your
proposed graduation date.
b.
Write a sentence or two summarizing the type of professional you wish to become in your
career.
c.
Write a sentence or two summarizing how you hope to enhance your community or
profession with your degree.
My academic personal mission is to earn my bachelor’s degree and further my career. Earning a
bachelor’s degree in operations management will fulfill my purpose in many aspects of my
personal and professional life. I am setting action toward my goals to obtain a leadership role
within my company and expect to graduate by 2027. Advancing my career will improve my
financial status and become a valued protector and provider for my family. My expectation is
that this knowledge and new skill sets will allow me to flourish and become a respected leader in
my field. I will affirm my ideas and implement new policies that drive efficiency and enhance
productivity while developing new cost-saving measures to pass on to our customer base. This
will ultimately help our communities by driving down costs to the consumer, thus inflation.
2.
Draft three SMART academic goals relating to your academic personal mission statement.
These
goals should be achievable in the next six months (short-term). Consider the following as you create
your goals:
a.
How will each goal help you achieve your mission?
b.
How will you
know
you’ve been successful in meeting each goal?
c.
When do you intend to complete each goal?
My first SMART goal for this term is to earn an A on each assignment, keeping the high
standard I have set for myself. I will be successful by reviewing each rubric and focusing
on each assignment. I will take the time to read each chapter of my textbook, ensuring it
is understood. I will know I am successful by reviewing my grades each week and reading
the comments and feedback for improvement. I will complete this goal each week as
assignments and discussions continue.
My second SMART goal is to continue my personal SWOT assessment and use this
information to identify where my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
need improvement. While completing this assessment each month, I will continue to
grow as an exceptional student and a stronger leader, which my company and academic
mission need from me. I will know I have been successful in meeting this goal by
realizing new areas of improvement while completing a new assessment each month.
This goal is ongoing as we constantly evolve.
My third SMART goal will be to utilize each of my resources, both academic and social,
during the next 6 months. Using these resources every week, on each assignment will
help me to become proficient and master my resourcing. I will know I am successful
when I am able to take on 2 classes per term instead of one. In doing so my classes
ahead will be easier to navigate as I will know which resources best aid me to reach my
ultimate goal. I have set this goal for the next 6 months and beyond.
