Collect Requirements
The following are the essential elements of requirement collection along with some examples:
1.
Interviews: We conducted interviews with Mr. Patel in order to determine his goals for the project. For example, that he wanted an open-
concept kitchen with a contemporary appliances. 2.
Surveys: We solicited opinions on materials, colors, and styles from Mr. Patel and other relevant parties. For instance, Mr. Patel, stated that he preferred a neutral color scheme with accent pieces that added bright pops of color. 3.
Observations: In order to determine the necessary modifications, we evaluated the house's present condition. One thing that was noticed was that the furniture placement in the living room was blocking out natural light, which meant a new arrangement was required. 4.
Brainstorming: This sessions were held in order to produce concepts and opportunities. One suggestion that was made was to turn the backyard into a quaint outdoor living area complete with a fire pit, deck, and seating.
Complete requirements documentation that includes material selections, design preferences, and room-specific details that are included in the outputs. While the requirements prioritization matrix helps to develop a phased plan based on immediacy, budget, and homeowner priorities, the requirements traceability matrix links each requirement to its source to ensure alignment. All of these results work together to create the framework for a customized and fruitful home remodeling project.
Define scope
Defining the scope for the kitchen and bedroom renovation in Mr. Patel’s home was a detailed process. We took expert judgement from architects, interior designers, and engineers to make sure that the deliverables were realistic.
We used data analysis for examining budget limitations, timelines, and quality standards.
We involved stakeholders in decision making and finalizing the scope, including Mr. Patel, contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies.
We did a product analysis, which included prototyping and modeling to test the ideas for kitchen and bedroom designs.
The outputs for the kitchen included a detailed scope statement which outlined the replacement of fridge, stove, cabinets, tap, and electrical equipment within 18 days. For the bedroom, the scope statement outlined the installation of new bedding, lighting, and a wardrobe within 14 days.
This formed the project’s scope baseline which served the standard against which project performance is measured. Along with this, we updated project documents to reflect these plans to make sure that all the stakeholders have a clear and
Define scope
For the bathroom, the scope of updating fixtures, replacing flooring, and adding new lighting, we estimate it will take around 20 days to complete. As for the cost, it can vary depending on the specific materials and fixtures, roughly estimated would be around $15,000 to $20,000.
For the living room, the scope of furniture upgrades and adding decorative elements, it should take about 15 days to complete. The cost will depend on the specific furniture and decor items we select, roughly estimate would be around $10,000 to $15,000.
The final timeline and cost will depend on various factors like the size of the rooms and the extent of the renovations

Budget and time
1.
It's really important to estimate the cost and time of any of the projects we're working on. It really helps us to allocate resources, manage tasks and identify associated costs. The very first thing we need to know is the historical data and analyze projects which we have worked on as a reference.
2.
While estimating and controlling the time and cost which we have used different tools to specify the project needs which helps us to successfully execute the project. Analogous Estimating: Analogous means 'similar'. By using this tool we can predict the project cost and time by analyzing the past projects. Bottom-up Estimating:
It describes the entire project information into different components for better understanding which gives us high accuracy of individual activities or work packages.
Parametric Estimating: We use this to analyze the parameters between historical data and other components which helps us to calculate time and cost of the project. 3.
Project performance reports offer thorough updates on project status and deviations, the Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) evaluate cost and schedule efficiency, and the cost baseline and schedule baseline act as benchmarks for tracking project costs and timelines.
For example: A project's Cost Performance Index (CPI) would be 0.9, indicating cost underperformance, if the project's cost baseline was $500,000 but the actual costs were $450,000. In a similar vein, the Schedule Performance Index (SPI) would be 1.67, showing ahead-of-schedule performance, if the project is halfway completed in six weeks as opposed to the scheduled baseline of ten.
Conclusion
To summarize it all, the presentation focused on a home renovation project for Mr. Patel's recently bought 2-story, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom Brampton home. The key deliverables are to renovate the kitchen, main bedroom, living area, and outside within a three-month period and a $120,000 the allocated funds. Interviews, questionnaires, inspections, and discussions about ideas were used to gather specifications, resulting in a thorough documentation of material choices aesthetic tastes and room-specific data.
The extent of kitchen and bedroom improvements was carefully described incorporating expert opinions, statistical analysis, and feedback from stakeholders. Outputs included specific scope statements that served as the scope of the project's baseline and were updated in project documentation to ensure stakeholder awareness. Additional scopes for the bathroom and living room have been estimated in terms of duration and expense, with the ultimate time and cost determined by a variety of circumstances.
The significance of estimating project cost and time was emphasized, with methodologies such as Analogous Estimating, Bottom-up Estimating, and Parametric Estimating highlighted for effective project execution. Project performance reports, Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and baselines were explored to track project expenditures and timeframes.
