Report
A scrum product backlog is a list of tasks created for the development team. A backlog divides the work needed to complete the roadmap into small portions that can be completed in a single sprint. The backlog is arranged in an order of priority[1] and tagged with the necessary labels. A typical task on the backlog can be user stories, user acceptance tests, etc. The development team works on the backlog in the order of assigned priority as and when capacity is available [1]. The product owner or manager is in charge of assigning priority to the items in the backlog. Product managers follow a roadmap to achieve their business goals and these goals are often broken into small fragments that are worked on every quarter. The priority is assigned majorly based on customer requirements [1]. The stories or tasks are then taken up based on the ease of implementation and dependency between two tasks.  The product owner or manager is responsible for creating the backlog. They also maintain and modify the backlog based on business requirements and urgency. In the agile environment, it is essential for the product owner to frequently communicate with the customers and ensure that the backlog is aligned with their priorities. Agile provides product owners with the flexibility to adjust the backlog if the customer shifts their priorities. [2] A product backlog is a flexible workboard for the development team that can be manipulated to fulfill business needs of the hour. [3] References: [1] Radigan, B. D. (n.d.).
