The hotel industry is well acknowledged on a global scale for its exceptional adaptability,
resilience, and rapidity. The sector operates at a rapid speed, with a continuous production
and deployment of cutting-edge resources to meet the demands of clients. Within the hotel
industry, ensuring client pleasure is seen as a crucial concern. Consequently, students who
choose to enrol in hotel management degrees are equipped with a comprehensive set of
abilities. These will include both technical proficiencies (e.g., room pricing, cost control,
accounting, scheduling) and interpersonal aptitudes (e.g., customer service, collaboration,
leadership), which are seen crucial for achieving success within the industry and professional
environments. All of these sectors have a common goal of ensuring customer satisfaction (
Lin
et al., 2020). Establishments heavily depend on the patronage of returning customers and
recommendations from pleased individuals. As a result, they place great importance on
providing a nice atmosphere and handy services such as showers and valet parking.
The hospitality and tourist sectors exhibit a mutual connection, wherein one sector
contributes to the advancement of the other. Hotel operators benefit financially, strategically,
and analytically when guests choose to remain at their properties. The hotel business plays a
significant role in enhancing the entire value and significance of tourism. The increase in the
number of visitors can be attributed to the implementation of aesthetic modifications and
improved accessibility measures (
Park and Min, 2020). The absence of hospitable and
amiable hosts would lead to the rapid decline of the tourist industry.
The study adopted the position of an intern in the hotel industry and afterwards engaged in
self-reflection, leading to the creation of this report. In my perspective, the correspondence
pertaining to my internship experience within the event planning department of the Grand
Royal Hotel in UK has been thorough and complete. I received the opportunity to engage in
an internship with the organisation for a period of three months. Over the course of a three-
month duration, I was presented with a sequence of instructions, which I conscientiously
adhered to, leading to the acquisition of significant experiential knowledge and invaluable
perspectives. The diverse range of responsibilities inside the firm provided me with
significant opportunities to improve and expand my skill set. This essay investigates the

The hotel industry is widely recognised as one of the largest and most profitable sectors
globally, owing to many factors. My role within the business has afforded me the distinct
privilege of engaging with and cultivating connections with professionals hailing from
various global locations.
One department inside the Grand Royal Hotel was responsible for delivering exceptional
customer service to all patrons (
Park et al., 2021). The primary objective of the company was
to guarantee client satisfaction by a dedicated commitment to provide exceptional service that
would leave a lasting impression on them.
Vision of the company
The primary objective of our establishment is to serve as the foremost choice for persons
seeking top-tier accommodations within the hospitality sector. In addition to this, we are
committed to actively contributing to local economies, ensuring the stability of our
employees' positions, and upholding the most exceptional quality standards in the field (

Since I have always aspired to work for a company that prioritises its clients' demands over
its own, I related to the organization's ethos. They provided me an internship in event
planning. This is such an important job for a travel and hospitality firm, and I feel very
fortunate to have been given the opportunity to fill it.
I have to give my whole attention to the business plan. The Grand Royal Hotel's primary goal
was to tailor each stay to the specific needs of its guests (
Qiu et al., 2020). After giving it a lot
of thought, I have concluded that working in the hospitality and tourism industry is where my
abilities and interests will be best utilised. I have completed all duties allocated to me or
ensured that they were completed on time to ensure that the company's goals and strategies
are consistent with the company's vision, which is to perform and deliver top quality service
to their clients (
McCartney and Kwok, 2023).
Opportunities were made available
The company gave me several chances to show what I could do. Gaining exposure to the
event planning process at a recognised company dealing in travel and hospitality was one of
the most valuable experiences. Thus, I was able to gain hands-on experience in the field of
event management, during which I was exposed to a wide variety of events, such as
conferences, yearly celebrations, and gatherings geared towards special interest groups. By
taking this route, I was able to concentrate on creating a highly controlled and monitored
event while still making good progress towards a wide range of goals (
Yörük et al., 2023). In
addition to improving my communication skills and managerial and leadership abilities, I
gained a lot of valuable experience from the aforementioned.

Challenges-
In 2023, the hotel sector will struggle to give each consumer a remarkable
experience. To keep consumers coming back, hotels and restaurants must respond to their
specific interests, which is getting easier owing to technology. Today's fast technological
change can be disruptive. To compete in today's market, organisations must prioritise new
technology. Hotels must spend heavily in digitization to fulfil customers' changing
expectations as the sector evolves (
Benitez and Medina, 2022).
Opportunities-
The importance of clean water and sanitation has grown worldwide. They
avoid dirty places where airborne and waterborne illnesses are more likely. Thus, gym, pool,

and lounging area cleaners will be in demand. The event planning sector is improving. An
event planner books a banquet space or conference room, decorates, reserves seats, and
supports keynote speakers (
Vrontis et al., 2022).
Challenges and opportunities reflected in placement
The aforementioned issues and opportunities have had an impact on my current situation. As
a result of an increased propensity for individuals to participate in outdoor activities and
venture outside their dwellings, I was granted the chance to dedicate a portion of my time to
these endeavours throughout my internship. One of the main challenges faced was the very
competitive nature of the internship position, which may be attributed to the prevalent culture
of competitiveness inside the firm. I have exerted much effort in my pursuit of an internship
opportunity inside the organisation, and the recruiters responsible for intern selection have
acknowledged and commended my rigorous attempts (
Francis et al., 2020). The
implementation of this strategic strategy guaranteed that the person would have the most
advantageous utilisation of the organization's resources, hence promoting their professional
growth and acquisition of additional competencies.

After giving it some thought, I'm in a position to assess both the positive and negative aspects
of the internship. Anyone working in the field of event planning within the hotel and tourism
industry might potentially benefit from the information contained in this document. Before I
started my internship, the only information I had on these subjects came from reading
academic literature and scholarly periodicals. My exposure to these subjects has greatly
increased since then (

turned out to be an extremely satisfying experience on a number of fronts; nevertheless, it
also offered problems such as the lack of monetary reward and the lack of acknowledgement
of my significance by other coworkers.
Analysis

Developing my communication skills was the most important goal I had for myself before
delving into the more theoretical aspects of event planning (

experience includes supervising and directing a variety of event teams, and I made use of my

from those experiences. It was vital for me to acquire extensive expertise in all aspects of

throughout my internship by using this strategy (

My goal is to make the most effective use of my skill set in any possible internships or future
career opportunities offered by my company. It is vital for me to improve my communication

customers I serve. In addition to that, one of my goals for this year is to increase the
frequency of the reading activities I participate in. An activity that has proven to be quite

During the time that I spent getting my master's degree in computer applications, I gained a

will carry with me throughout my life. Equally important is the practise of engaging in
excellent leadership conduct, which gives individuals with several opportunities to exhibit

science, I came to have a strong respect for the skill that I possess in being able to interpret

As a consequence of this, I have devoted more time to my academic endeavours with the
intention of becoming proficient in the most up-to-date approaches and technologies in the
hopes that this may improve my athletic ability. As a result of my inadequate communication
skills, I have struggled to successfully manage meetings and to lead a team. This has caused

aforementioned courses were provided by the MSC. Enhancing the efficacy of CEOs of
Grand Royal Hotel leadership in the hotel business may be achieved by prioritising
credibility and cultivating a collaborative work culture. I have effectively demonstrated my
capacity to competently oversee and execute all assigned responsibilities in my position as a
waiter at the prestigious Grand Royal Hotel, attributable to the extensive training I have
undergone (
Satu et al., 2020). Furthermore, I have effectively met all of my obligations.
The leadership training included in the course content has greatly contributed to my growth
as a manager, enhancing my professional development in this role. This Grand Royal Hotel
training programme facilitated the acquisition of active listening skills and fostered the
building of trust among the members of my team. Having successfully finished the course, I
have acquired the essential skills required to enhance the productivity of both my team and
the firm as a whole (

tenure as a steward at the Grand Royal Hotel, I encountered a situation when my supervisor
assigned me a substantial workload that required completion within a limited timeframe. The
diverse nature of the assignments was a significant difficulty for me due to their extensive
coverage across many domains. Being a newly enlisted Grand Royal Hotel individual, he
possessed an anticipation of my collaboration, therefore assigning an imbalanced percentage
of his duties to me (

After a prolonged period of neglecting the issue, and persisting in doing so for a substantial
duration of weeks, I eventually broached the topic with him upon noting a steady escalation
in his workload and the accompanying stress he experienced. The phrase "Graduate Quality"
refers to the ability of individuals to actively engage in collaborative activities and effectively
navigate and resolve disagreements in order to collectively achieve a shared objective. This
particular skill is commonly known as "Graduate Quality (

the potential adverse effects on my personal feelings. The standoff led to an escalation in the
intensity of the disagreement. In professional settings, the presence of divergent perspectives
among individuals might potentially hinder the productivity and efficiency of joint
endeavours undertaken by team members (
Lertchalermtipakoon et al., 2021). The
management exhibits signs of impatience and exploits loopholes to expedite the completion
of tasks, resulting in a deterioration of the overall product quality. My understanding and
comprehension of ethics and ethical principles in interpersonal, societal, and industrial
settings are being enhanced by my present engagement in the creation of Grand Royal Hotel,
a quest in which I am actively involved.
Based on the principles elucidated in the course "Managing Productivity through People," it
is recommended that when team members encounter difficulties in resolving conflicts
through informal communication channels, the most appropriate course of action is to
escalate the matter to the supervisor or manager of the relevant department (
Khatri, 2019). As
a result of being allocated more tasks by the Chief Steward, I recognised the necessity of
furnishing him with pertinent information. During a prearranged meeting, a dialogue ensued
among myself, assuming the subordinate position, my boss, and the chief steward. The chief
steward articulated the viewpoint that it would be advisable for my supervisor to abstain from
assigning additional responsibilities to other employees. I received this information as a

been evident had I not effectively conveyed my concerns to the management. This condition
would have impeded my potential for advancement inside the company's hierarchical
structure. Effectively timed and skilfully managed arguments can lead to favourable
outcomes in terms of productivity (
Reis et al., 2020). This is due to their ability to cultivate
an environment that is receptive to novel ideas and actively contributes to the cultivation of a
congenial working climate.

The team has a comprehensive understanding of the organization's resources, the fluidity of
the dynamic competitive environment, and the strategic goals of the firm over a variety of
time periods. In order for an organisation to be considered "cognizant," it is absolutely
necessary for all of its components to have a common grasp of the organization's mission,
aims, and the external conditions under which it functions. The failure of some companies

tourists. In addition, companies place a high value on the ability to interact successfully
within a team since it encourages the development of already existing skills as well as the
learning of new skills that will be useful in the future (
Yin et al., 2023).
The existence of uncertainty was discovered, which resulted in the execution of further
activities to address and fix the problem. The hard situation was effectively handled via the

received and promised to positively spread the word about our institution. We were able to
seize control of the situation, and going forward, we will be ready to do so once more if it
becomes necessary. The change of this hotel policy will make it possible for the
establishment to continue to live up to the acclaimed brand reputation for which it is known
by routinely exceeding the expectations of its guests (
Sann et al., 2022). My effort to enabling
interdepartmental training and building a list of reliable persons for shift covering was
recognised and appreciated by both the staff and management of the company.
The future
I was able to assess the hospitality business and my career options using the knowledge I
obtained in my Hospitality Management course. Exams, readings (including real-world case
studies), and lectures were all a part of this course. I would not have finished the course
without these materials. When I consider my time spent abroad, I notice clearly that it was
interspersed with both happy and sad moments. Since I came into my placement with such
little experience, I encountered a number of difficulties (
Artanto, 2023). My inferior
knowledge of the material led to frequent knowledge gaps between my bosses and coworkers,
which undermined my sense of fair treatment.
Our frequent interactions have given them a thorough understanding of who I am, and they
appreciate the work I have put in to bolster my knowledge of the hospitality industry.
Because I was able to meet the need, I was given access to the company's most senior leaders
and knowledgeable specialists for in-depth conversations. I was able to learn from these
people owing to the opportunities we shared (
Baum, 2019). The skills and insights I gained
during my internship will serve me well in my future career in the hospitality industry.
Without the chance to put what I was learning in class to use in a real-world context through
my internship, I would not have gained as much from our class discussions.

The exchanges I experienced in online discussion groups were really educational. Several
conversations taught me about the hotel industry's inner workings. According to what I have
learned, the hotel management sector is growing at the same rate as others (
Jones and
Comfort, 2020). There has never been a more dynamic moment to be a hotel manager, owing
to a plethora of new businesses, mergers, job opportunities, and tourist attractions.
The provided examples also added a lot of useful information. To date, "Checking out a
Guest" is the case study that has most interested me. A visitor with a bad attitude and a need
for speed has caused this predicament. The agent's professionalism in handling the irate
customer impressed me much (
Rivera, 2020). The lessons I have learned from the case
studies go well beyond the hospitality industry. You never know what kind of hell a consumer
is going through until they reach out to you.
My current business plan is significantly more effective as a consequence of this training. I
have always been curious in opportunities in the hotel industry. In retrospect, I should have
known better about the significance of tourism (
Rhou and Singal, 2020). Instead, I have
always put a premium on supporting small businesses in my area. From what I can see,
restaurants rely heavily on customers from out of town.

though the tourist and hospitality sectors are fundamentally intertwined, it is important to
acknowledge that there are a number of critical qualities that set them separate from one
another. Customers in this industry are mostly vacationers, and the typical length of their trip
is seven days. In contrast, the hospitality business places a premium on ensuring that guests
have a pleasant and relaxing stay. Criteria like how effectively they welcome vacationers
might be taken into account. It might mean prioritising locals on vacation or out-of-town
visitors on sight-seeing excursions, depending on the circumstances.
The basic role of an event server is to manage and evaluate incoming events in a timely
manner. Weddings, formal dinners, and office holiday parties are all examples of special
occasions where people come together to celebrate with friends and coworkers. Like wait

employ the services of caterers and other providers with whom they have worked before.
Event servers need to demonstrate skills in both adaptability and organisation to deal with the
inherent unpredictability associated with their professional responsibilities. There is a lively
conversation going on as people consider various strategies that may be used to boost the
business's bottom line. When the hotel is busy, like during the holidays, the general manager
needs to be adaptable, well-informed, and ready to handle any unforeseen issues that may
arise (
Smart et al., 2021).
This research was informed by the author's internship experience in the hotel business. It is
well known that my internship at the hotel department responsible for event planning during
my undergraduate years provided me with invaluable practical expertise. For three months, I
was able to get valuable experience as an intern at the company. Over the course of three
months, I followed a series of instructions meant to make it simpler for me to learn the
material and develop the skills I needed. The range of tasks I was expected to complete on a
regular basis for the company ensured that I was always challenged (
Valeri and Baggio,
2021). The goal of this study is to examine how the development of the placement business
through time has impacted the many difficulties and advantages encountered during the
interviewing process.
In the section of this paper devoted to my qualifications, I describe in depth the tasks I was
assigned and the knowledge and experience I obtained during my internship. In addition, I'd
want to share the difficulties I encountered and the solutions I found while interning. After
providing a brief review of what they learned in class, the intern elaborates on how they have
applied that knowledge in practise during their internship (
Guan et al., 2020). In the last
portion of the report, I evaluate my professional goals and explain how the skills and
information I gained during my internship have prepared me to achieve them.
