President Thomas Jefferson Explain the key historical figure or group’s motivation to participate in your historical event. Jefferson participated in signing the Act Prohibiting the Importation of Slaves because there were a lot of slaves in the East coast and down south. Articulate how the historical context caused or influenced your chosen historical event. I chose the Act Prohibiting Importations of Slaves because I want to know more about slavery. Being an African American female, I wanted to learn more about my history. Explain how connecting your historical event and current event improves the understanding of your topic. My historical events connect with current events because more people are acknowledging Juneteenth and slavery.
