Lin University of Nebraska Press, 2001 Author(s) Biography, Bias: St. Germain investigated the standard foundations of the Indian Settlement Making Strategy in the two countries and outli divergences in utilizing the hold and human progress arrangements that the two legislatures implanted in the deals to addr "Indian Issue" in the West. St Germain shows these arrangements have, at times, been as troubling and full of misconcepti instituted by the US. Thesis: Indian Treaty-Making Policy in the United States and Canada, 1867-1877, compares Indian policy in the United States an emphasizing why these governments began treaty-making endeavors in the 1860s and 1870s, how they handled those neg the outcomes. Jill St. Germain questions the Canadian government's comments in 1877 about the superiority and distinctiv Canadian Indian policy compared to that of the United States.
