Module 5 Short Responses – Question 5 Construct a thesis statement that provides an answer to the research question you posed
in Step 1. Base your response on the historical evidence that's been presented in this course so far, as well as any research you may have done on your own. Rosa park's role in the civil rights movement occurred in 1955. Rosa parks an African American seamstress in Montgomery Florida, refused to give up her seat on the bus to a whit passenger. This resulting in her arrest and causing the African Amercian community to respond with a yearlong boycott against the bus system.
Module 5 Short Responses – Question 6 Name three specific historical events that can be considered contributory causes of the passage of the Voting Rights Act. Briefly explain why you believe each of these events contributed to the passage of the Act.
The 24th amendment, The civil rights movement, and Sellma to Montgomery March 1965. These events along with others contributed to the passage of the voting right act. The events highlighted violence and discrimination against African Americans and their rights not only to vote but the right to be treated equal fairly. The fifteenth amendment, which prohibits the right to vote to be denied regardless of color or

The first sit in, In Charleston by a group of students that took a stand for their civil rights in front of a five and dime store that was segregated. The thesis illustrates how they did it and how they felt while doing it playing an integral role in the civil rights movement. The author will probably use newspaper article and journals perhaps even photos.
