HRM652 WEEK2 DQ
As an employee at the local VA, our training setting now is the yearly update to the Mission Act for all employees and that we have 100% complete by the end of the year. The Mission Act is basically designed to strengthen the nationwide VA Health Care System by empowering Veterans with more health care options
(News, 2019)
. The training mission is to have employees attend in increments so that we continue to provide health care for the veterans with little to no problem or appointment cancellations. Has this been a good strategy? Yes and No. As anything you do, we still have people looking for ways out of attending or saying they attended when they
didn’t. So, once we figured out what was happening, we made sure to create a link where everyone that attended on that day had to use the link to receive credit, not every link was the same and each service had a different link to use on a specific day. To me this created a much better training setting and helped the workplace because it allowed use to track who was attending, get an accountability of them, and continue with patient care in the meantime with little to no delays. As anything you implement you will always have those challenges. Our main challenge was getting everyone to attend of course, but also to make sure they were being accounted for when they did. Dealing with adults at times is much more complicated than children. Another challenge was to make sure we had their undivided attentions, so we made electronic devices prohibited while in the setting. Francis References
