Milestone One: Introduction and Data Analysis
Introduction
My client is a 12-year-old boy named Arthur. He is in seventh grade, makes a good grade,
likes psychical education but not his academic class. He is described as disorganized and
inattentive. He is recently has been experiencing some mood changes. Plus, Arthur has begun to
fight with his parents much more with his father mainly about his grades. His parents noticed
some changes in him that made them worried and asked for this referral. Along with his teacher
as well ask for a referral to help Arthur at school too. The problem that Arthur has become more
distracted in the class, mood changes, and sleep changes. Some questions that I would have been
for Arthur, what is keeping you up? Why do you think you can’t sleep? Do you like PE? Why do
you like PE? What classes don’t you like? Some of these questions could open the relationship,
so Arthur could trust me and be able to talk to me.
Data Analysis
Both parents (mother and father) and his teacher made the referral, they would be the
ones who would come to benefit from this consumer report. Since it’s going to be them who are
going to be reading this report it would influence me to make the language (jargon) as simple as
possible. As well as by making the data clear and easy to understand and read. Also, because I
know that the parents asked for the referral may mean that they are going to be or want to be
involved in every step of the way in finding what is wrong with their kid. They would also want
to be there when we find and start to treat him.
Taking a note, from the article, “How to write more useful assessment reports” by
Charlotte Huff (2020), keeping this in mind when I am organizing my data to address my
question is to verify the report and making sure they are solid data, not hiding behind the test
result, like I mentioned before striping the jargon, considering the patient perspective, and not

losing sight of my narrative. To make the technical information more useful and understandable
for the intended reader I could do the following: add information so the reader can understand
the report, omit any information that is not useful or important to the report, add an example of
an analogy so they can understand better, and also maybe change the level of examples (Gross et
al, n.d.).
