Week 5 Community Career Center Community Career centers current organization as a bureaucracy? How does it compare with the structure that the agency had at first? In the beginning the founders provided the services themselves. If they felt that the training format had exciting possibilities, they were invited to design something special for local groups. Last year the center management began to get out of control. Its size had gotten smaller and so did its funding. Over the years it grew, but they became frustrated with the amount of work that needed to be done in the past. It had an easier approach to handling the community career center. Early, the were no departments made on separate functions such as training, counseling, now for each major function, there is one department. Contingency theories while deciding the structure of the agency when it grew. Contingency theories suggest that while designing structures of a firm, various contingency factors should be identified and considered which may influence the structure. CCC should identify various factors from internal environment and external environment. The matrix structure seems most appropriate for CCC, Matrix structure allows creativity along with establishment of hierarchy of chain. Shannon and Ramirez have a right to want to leave because their idea has changed. They wanted to fit the needs of client career. Now they have a department for counseling and another department for finding jobs. Ramirez idea was designed to special session not to keep repeating the same program all the time to make it easier for the marking department. Now what they started to do was please the marketers. My opinion is that I would leave as well when you work so hard to do something and it’s not appreciated you can become overwhelmed and stress, As human service workers we tend not to get the appreciate we need in our work place. This is why we have low staff and overly worked.
