The Plan
Understanding the Problem
My Company is trying to obtain a healthier work environment while staying consistent during the workday. The Company has started noticing employees struggling with staying fit and
motivated during the day, most employees sit at their desks all day and get little movement during that time. My employer has asked me to develop a plan that would be convenient but show the necessary results to help employees to perform better throughout the day. My Needs to Assess
In order for me to better understand why my employer wants me to provide a plan that would allow their employees to perform better as well as feel healthy. I started by recognizing my target audience; my co-workers. Second, I observed my co-workers and their habits throughout the day, and as my employer had mentioned they sat at their desks. From observing I decided to create a survey to ask a series of questions; “Would you be interested in a fifteen-
minute walk break during the workday?” “What are some healthier lunch options you would like
to see?” “Would you be interested in a work area outside for fresh air?”
Company Goals
Some of the goals I know my Employer and Co-works would be interested in is boosting the morale of our company, to allow the workers to feel motivated and accomplished while working throughout the day. The first goal we should set is to better understand why a plan is being set into place to accomplish a healthier lifestyle in the workforce. Second, start setting up steps to follow along so that we can start applying these steps to our daily work life. Third, start applying the steps one by one for two weeks. Fourth, recognize any results we see after the two
3
weeks, if they are positive then keep making the effort, if results aren’t as consistent then go back and re-evaluate. Intervention and Implementation
The means to ensure that the necessary efforts are being made another survey after the two weeks of hard work a new survey will be sent out asking for each workers intake on the new plan for a healthier work environment. If things are looking positive, then we will continue with the same goals as stated but each week give workers a new motivation or end goal such as a contest draw or a reward. Let’s look back and Evaluate
While we get farther into our application and noticing our results as we apply them throughout our workday, another survey will be sent out three months later to recognize the efforts everyone has been making. This new survey will be longer and more personal, but anonymous. This survey will focus on the personal efforts of each worker and their opinions of the new plan and what they think we as a company should focus on or move on from.
