How might a variety in factors such as employment background, education, and experience working in a health care setting contribute both positively and negatively to team dynamics among health care professionals? Health care professionals are made up of many different employment backgrounds, education and experiences. “Clinical heath care teams are comprised of health care providers including nonclinical personnel from multiple disciplines, focusing on a patient or patient population with similar health care needs” (Johnson & Sollecito, 2020). All health care professionals work together to benefit their patients and help make them better. “The quality of teamwork is associated with the quality and safety of care delivery systems” (Rosen, 2018). A variety of factors such as employment background, education, and experience working in a health care setting can positively contribute to team dynamics among health care professionals because it can allow everyone to use their own experiences and knowledge as a team to help solve any problems or help treat their patients. It is also important for teams to be able to communicate effectively, while also being able to trust the people that they are working with. Communication and trust can make or break a team. I do think factors such as employment background, education and experience working in a health care setting can contribute negatively in certain situations such as someone thinking they might know what is best for a patient because they have been working in a health care setting for so long, but they might not be as advanced on new technologies or procedures that could also help. I believe that people will always butt heads when it comes to certain situations, and especially in health care because it can put someone’s health and life at risk if a mistake is made. Overall, all teams should be able to communicate effectively and trust one another even if they have a different employment backgrounds, education and experience. Johnson, J. K., and Sollecito, W. A.
