Exam Prep and Group Practice
I will utilize this course to prepare for the ASWB licensing exam. The ASWB exam
Content Outlines (Apgar & LSW, 2020). Moreover, the Interventions and Planning portion
will be my focus. Following these suggestions, I wish to create a comprehensive study plan.
This requires a thorough study of course materials, lecture notes, and textbooks to understand
intervention and prepare significant concepts and strategies. I will routinely practice
answering sample questions and taking simulated exams to enhance my test-taking skills. I
will participate in group discussions and seek professors for guidance to clarify any issues.
This broad strategy will help me prepare for the licensing exam and build expertise.
Psychoanalysis groups were developed by Sigmund Freud in the last century and
evolved due to resource and time constraints, reducing their prevalence in modern social
work (
Scriven, 2020).
Task groups are excellent at solving problems, developing skills, and
accomplishing predetermined objectives. They may not, however, deal with complex
emotional problems. Therapy groups, although more time and resource-intensive, concentrate
on emotional processing. The NASW Code of Ethics ensures client wellness, informed
approval, confidentiality, and ethical behavior, which serves as a guide for group practice. It
ensures professionalism and builds confidence with a wide range of clientele.
Direct social workers follow professional ideals, including empathy, social justice,
and respect for people. These ideals guide ethical decision-making for client-centered,
culturally sensitive treatment. A Code of Ethics helps translate these principles into concrete
standards, fostering responsibility and consistency. It sets ethical norms to protect clients. I
will use the Harvard Unconscious Association Test (IAT) to examine my unconscious bias
(
Harter & Marsh, 2022).
This survey helps me identify unconscious biases, improve cultural
competency, and provide more fair client services.
